It will go full circle but for the rest of my days I will be having analogue dials and a self seeking push button radio.

It's something of a myth that vinyl has made a comeback.

Vinyl singles peaked with 228 million units in 1973, the first year tracked by the RIAA, and LP/EPs hit their top at 341.3 million in 1978

As of 2022 LP sales are at a *massive* 43.5m......

Granted that's a lot more LPs than the 900k sold in 2006 or the singles at 300k in 09/10

But it's a *long* way from the peak

Ah, the joy of Giles Coren. Never knowingly made a career about moaning about absolutely everything.

I heard he believes man was never meant to fly because he once had a seat next to the toilet.
Interesting. I always assumed that such an experience merely confirms that one is intended to fit, but not in that part of the aeroplane.

Some things do come back around ;o)

So maybe not at their peak but I suspect vinyl will still be here when USBs have long gone.

I guess that rather depends on what you mean by USBs. Seems an odd way to describe a music format?

To be fair, 50% of the EV drivers I meet when charging state they are unhappy with their choice of fuel and would consider going back to petrol etc.

This is drivers at public charging stations, who I guess would be far happier if they were not queuing as a result of the other chargers being used/out of order of very s l o wwwww
50%, I’m surprised it’s that low.

That’s low for the States. They do huge mileages compared with Uk.

Well that I didn't know. Doesn't seem to tally with the numbers I see for cars for sale on FB, but....

<edit>

Hmmm random googling indicates that the average age of a car in the US when scrapped is about 13 years
Average milage driven by a Leftpondian is roughly 14k miles (UK seems to be about 7.4k and has dropped a lot since the pandemic. That feels low to me, I thought it was always abotu 12k but there we are)
So imperfectly 13 years at 14k per year...
