European breakdown cover - it pays to talk!!

An on-line quote of £172 from the AA (our domestic provider) for European breakdown cover for our 02 Spyder on our 17 day 3000 mile Spanish-Franco tour forced a bit of a gulp. Subsequent research revealed that the age of the car meant it was excluded from many quotes but on-line the RAC was slightly more competitive around £150. A quick chat to the AA on Monday and the quote was down to £150 - but the RAC was lower at £125 and had all the necessary bits we needed…….
Here’s hoping we don’t have to use it.

What age limit do they have? 15 years is considered classic insurance so i presume it's similar.

I offered to drop euro cover to see if I could get cheaper..
"Its free anyway sir"...was their response !!
