Anyone been with Esure insurance?

They have quoted some ridiculously low quotes on all 3 of my household cars via confused.com and there was a banner saying it was an offer via the confused website.

move been admiral for years but it’s literally half the price.

whikst I hope I don’t need to use it would still appreciate feedback.

cheers

go with it, they deal with low risk clients and clearly want your/new business, that's how the insurance industry works, next year on renewal they might be too expensive and you start all over again with quotes

Thanks folks. Quite an unbelievable price they’ve quoted individually for all 3 cars so will give them a ring

Who is underwriting the proposed policy?
Budget insurers are often quick to write off cars rather than repair - and the write off values tend to be at bottom end of market value irrespective of your cars history and condition.

All insurance policies are great and legally compliant- UNTIL you need to make a claim. That is when the differences start to become very obvious and apparent.

I had Esure covering my W8 when I wrote it off, they were quick to settle and were spot on with valuation and allowed a buy back option that wasn't silly. They even played hard with the other claimant when they entered a ridiculous set of expenses including repalcement car hire from their brother.

Never had to claim from them but have taken out car insurance with them in the past.

House insurance was with them too when a mains-fed elbow joint blow into a tanked basement while we were away for the weekend. The whole experience could not have been made less unpleasant from start to finish.

YMMV.

Just done a quote and they're very cheap at the moment. Check out topcashback too as esure are offering decent cashback for new customers, but you will have to go direct through the esure website so may not be cheaper overall than through confused.

So contradicting feedback but there must be some drive for business as namaste says they are ridiculously cheap at the moment.

been admiral probably the last 10 years maybe time for a change.

Have you phoned Admiral regarding your esure quote. They will try and match it in terms of cost but will also check with you that you are getting like for like.
I was with Admiral, renewal came through so I called them and they dropped the quote without removing any feature of the cover. They do rely on the auto renewers to boost profits. Plus they are Welsh call centres not sub-continent.

Haven’t phoned them yet and I definitively will, but can’t see them getting anywhere near it, it literally is half the price!

will make the call though

Worth asking who the policy is underwritten by. It is key to understanding - you are entering into a contract with the underwriters, not Esure. They are acting as introductory agent and using your disclosures to help the underwriters understand their risks and in turn set the premium or decline (directly or indirectly by setting a ludicrously high premium which you wont take up).

Some underwriters are better than others and their policies have perceived higher worth which will only become apparent when you make a claim.

About 8 years ago a car hit the car behind me and shoved it into me
Turned out all 3 of us were with Esure , all I can say is it was repaired quickly and to a good standard

So phoned admiral and they took a grand off it!

Esure would still have been a couple hundred cheaper but was happy with that. Plus despite having home insurance with them about 2 years she’s linked that in also so about June next year my home insurance will renew for the remainder of the joint policy but be slightly cheaper and then I can renew the lot again this time next year

£2700 for 3 cars. Turned 40 this year I must be a safe bet now lol
You call that ridiculously cheap! Depending on the cars that’s still quite a bit. I have had a quote for a hurucan perfomante and an M1 at 2100 (they started at 3200) and I have been trying to bargain that down (without success so far) ...
My Maserati GTS was £265 fully comp (and I was under 40). I couldn’t give my credit card details fast enough...

The Maserati was less then 500. The most expensive car was my commuter which is covered for business use as well and up to 28k miles.
Trust me I go through the motions every year.
