EPB seized up

Looking for a bit of help my QPV (09 ZF) EPB seized up after having recent work done on the BCM unit which was corroded from water damage. We suspected the EPB actuator was knackered but I want to rule out anything fuse related. Some other things which haven't returned to normal include. Mirror folding button (just makes a pop) and drivers door locks and won't unlock... Also parking sensor module seems knackered. I am getting 1 beep followed by 4 beeps while dring. The door stays locked unless I do it from outside via the Touch handle but this fault is intermittent as it has been unlockable through the usual way or pulling the door handle. I have sourced an alternative EPB actuator from a Peugeot 3008 (closes serial number time period and hw/sw number) I am getting error codes U1713 and 0417. When I installed the EPB it spat out the wire after several handbrake buttons presses

We're you getting the same codes before the Peugeot epb?

Forgetting about the electrics for a moment does the mechanical side of the epb all work well. By that I mean

A. the cables move freely.
B. The pivot thing at the top of the shoes moves freely
C. The shoes move well and are correctly adjusted. I use 3 clicks from lock for my GT

Post a picture of the codes and also Google them. I dont actually know what they are but haven't googled either

Oh good question. Here is the dump
This was before I changed EPB after the first drive back from the NBC being reinstalled all modules out cleaned and checked for damage.
B1012, c1003 all the way to c1003. U1700 u1706 u1712 u1715 c100d c100f u0154 b1912 b1820 u1602 b1005 b1042 u1600 b1014 b1013 c1555 u1118 u1213 c1313 c1161 c1557 u1701 u1700 u1711 c1101 u1713 u0428 u0001 u0447 u0417 u0416 p0571 p2637 p0700 u0028 p1059 p1570 u0141 p0073 p1602 p0102

I guess the answer is yes mechanically it's all okay. I have disconnected the EPB to let me drive around still.

@rwatkins so we have definitely seen scenario 3.

Did you check scenario 1 before you went for scenario 2?

The codes you have now what do they actually mean? The code itself means nothing to me, myself and others need the description in order to prove a steer

If you swap back the old epb. You get a huge list of codes but if you use the Peugeot one you only have 2 codes from your first post?

Hmmm so I reconnected the old EPB module. It worked first time and reset. However after the car left overnight the error has come back. I checked the battery voltage via obd and it stated 11.6v on ignition. No engine running. That seems low so I'm thinking it's either battery drain or parasitic drain making it occur. Will stick it on charge to confirm

Interesting development...low battery voltage would certainly explain alot of errors

With a £20 battery monitor you can take the guess work out of the battery both now and future diagnosis.

Check out a BM6 or BM200

1. Check battery drain (voltage vs time)
2. Check alternator output
3. Check cranking voltage
4. Check car location

so seems to be losing charge overnight. I am thinking I may have a hidden tracker or something draining this battery as I get those annoying 1 beep followed by four every couple of mins

Well now you got to find the power drain. This video is good. I like it because you dont pull fuses which is a hassle

Good luck.

P.s I would still buy and install a battery monitor.

also like a fool I left in the OBD reader overnight which was transmitting a bluetooth signal with the car locked and supposed to be in sleep mode. So just charging up now with that removed to check if I have caused this headache myself haha

I guess you will find out. Maybe as simple as that.

My EasyMas OBD only draws 2 to 3 mA when in sleep. It goes to sleep automatically.

If you have a genuine power drain once you locate it, let me know which one and I will post a list of module/circuit expected sleep draw (mA) also wiring diagrams although they may only be for the GT

I have had to change out my parking sensor module because it kept throwing faults. I think I made a mistake and drained the battery or my battery is now degraded because it dropped to 20% and then everything on the cluster lit up like a christmas tree

You can get a free battery test at halfords. You need someplace that does a full battery analysis and gives a printout not just a multimeter check.

A DIY clue is of course the battery monitor and seeing how high you can get the state of charge.

I can get my battery to 100 percent but within a day or two it already drops to 80 percent. It takes 5 or 6 days to get to 70 percent. Ive rarely had it lower than 65 percent.

I'll get a battery test... the brake actuator is failing again. So no handbrake and no parking sensors... the joys

Battery turns out to be fine. So yep handbrake and parking module. I am contacting someone to potentially take a look at the module as it works if I disconnected and connect when the car is already running. The parking sensor module is relatively cheap to swap in and find out so less of an issue

You could have your epb module checked. See screenshots.

Conaeros advice is to never ever calibrate so maybe mail order repair is possible
