The outside air reading from the mirror body is used by the aircon system. There is a another temp. sensor on the mass airflow sensor body, the Intake Air Temp. Sensor that provides information for the injectors.

Thanks for the replies.

Hope all of you are safe.

Latest news are better as the light has not come again in latest test drive, so the specialist is confident to release the car as he believes the error might have had to do with the battery not being 100% on the start after long period on storage. This had already been pointed out by someone here.

So now is just a routine maintenance service. The car is ready though I will take it next week when my wife can drive me there. Not a good time now to take a train....

Hello again,

Took the car today due to the circumstances in Madrid.

Errors reset, back to normal.

Thanks again for your comments.

Don’t worry, it’ll be back. Clearing the faults in a 3200 just makes them stronger, a bit like that 0.1% that Domestos can’t kill. In future just leave the ECL alone, too many cancellations will just make it mad and then you’re f*cked. When that happens, the only way to kill it is to smash the ba5tard out with a brick-hammer and bodge tape the hole.

For what the specialist has told me, it has to do with the car not doing any excercise while the battery depletes. Since I am spending all this time at home due to the Covid, I intend to move the car more oftenly and avoid any other nuisance warning.

Anyway, whether I move it or not, my experience is that if I am to keep the car in pristine condition, then I will be paying a visit to the specialist every year, every time for a different "light". This I believe has to do with the car being italian, and now almost 20 year old, so not only money, but some patience will be needed as well from now on to mantain the 3200.

After driving her home, and today for a while, I still think the car deserves this effort.

I would definitely drive it as often as possible, as these cars don't like sitting, and err well that's what its for?. Clear errors yourself if possible and keep a log of the errors so you can see if one is recurring a lot. only use the dealers if you have a persistent error, the car will throw up the odd error which will go away with some driving or a battery charge, and if you get freaked out by every error you will go mad with a 3200 to be honest.

Nice back lights though.
