Just a thought, I still have a few sets of original Glyco over size thrust bearing left over from my rebuild

I bought the whole lot the importer had in stock

After reading all of these end float horror stories on this forum i encouraged myself to measure crankshaft travel from my own -01 3200 GTA (even if this USUALLY is not problem on Auto transmission cars...)

Max reading i got was 0,15-0,16mm so i should be safe?? (for now at least...)

Hi.

What's the procedure to move the crankshaft on a GTA, as there is obviously no clutch pedal? The oil pressure of my AC is worrying me (on 5 when driving but sometimes it falls to 2,5 when idle, I even sporadically get an "oil error" light or "check oil level"). Other than that, it seems to work perfectly, no oil consumption, no noise. 73.000km I have a new oil sensor from David A ready to be fitted but it makes sense to mesure the play first.

First off don’t panic, take a deep breath.

Yours is an auto so extremely rare, it’s the manuals that are 95% of the failures.

5 at speed and 2.5 at hot idle is normal. The error oil trigger is below 1 which I assume your not seeing.

99% your oil pressure sender...a known failure point.

To check the end float, set up a dial gauge on the front pulley and lever with a pry bar and rotate the crank by hand. From memory it should be around .35 and above .6 is considered failed but you will have to get those numbers verified, it’s been 15 years since my endfloat nightmare... on a manual at 35k miles.

Oh, I don't panic, I'm not afraid.
The reason I rest in front of 3 big fans is just to get my breath back a little bit more easily. :worried1:

I will see with the new sensor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I had the very same issue with mine. New oil pressure sender will sort this out.

As said above these are a weak spot. What I would advise though is try and get your one refurbished rather than one of the aftermarket ones. Mine is constantly leaking a few drips. The original one is a much better fit than aftermarket. Sadly these parts are no longer available.

Unfortunately the plastic body means they can’t be refurbed. I think Allan looked into this a few years ago.

If you have a drip you should be able to sort it with some thread sealer. I use this on my adapters and haven’t seen any leaks at all.

From memory it's about quarter to half a millimetre, once it gets a quarter of a mm over that issues ensue.

Pretty sure mine was 0.9 mm and I had to have it addressed before the crank starts eating into the journals.
What´s the problem?
