Electronic Parking Brake?

Is it me or the car (2010 GTS MC Shift), as I cannot get the EPB to work consistently/all the time? I'd say it works 20-30% of the time when I pull the leaver (usually when I pop out to close the garage door), but it always applies and disengages itself correctly when I turn off/on the ignition. Am I mad and must be missing a step in the procedure of applying it, or does it need fixing?
Appreciate any thoughts.

Sounds like it could be the car. I've got an MC Shift and the EPB works fine. I think I always have the brake pedal pressed when I pull the lever but that shouldn't make a difference. Also, there can be a second or two delay before it fully engages - another reason for me to keep my foot in the brake pedal

Yep - keep your foot on the brake.

Mine is inconsistent at best.

You have to have your foot firmly on the brake pedal to release the lock, if it's lightly on the sensor does not pick it up and it makes that shockingly loud noise.

Not least it's embarrassing to hold everyone up at the lights......
