Ebay 4200 Coupe needing love !

During my Sunday Ebay mooching I came across this rather sad looking 4200 Coupe,

Will be keeping an eye on what it goes for, its an insurance write off "One Key-No service book-no MOT-Log book present" and its been wrapped :(

Money pit ?

Ebay item number is 292703796079 for any one interested.

New disks and pads fitted for £500, cheaper than I could do it myself! Don’t know that it is necessarily a money pit but I’d think you would be looking at a track day car as the best outcome. CAT is a minimal disclosure so caveat emptor as ever!

All you need to know right there then, spent money on a wrap that would have been better spent on mechanics.

As its a "insurance right off" the wrap may possibly be concealing different coloured replacement panels ?

I dare not tot up the cost of the replacement parts to get this car through an MOT :(

Looking more closely, I think it has taken a knock at the rear.
The seller is being honest though how much it would genuinely cost is very subjective.
Big question marks from me.

Sorry, you’d need to have a serious screw loose to want to take that on. Walk, no run, away. There are far better cars out there.

Why would someone put a car into an MOT with an obviously non-compliant reg plate? That's instant failure if not risking a tug from the police.

Also MY nn MAS is a common theme, me, Sommi and this one plus I saw MM nn MAS at Brands Hatch recently...

Well its up to £6995 with 16 hours to go and with 8 bids and 5 different bidders someone really wants it, but its still not at its reserve :confused:

Yes, I see that.
I cannot see how this one will sell.
Surely if someone is looking for a 4200 they know that it cannot be run on pennies (though this one has if new discs and pads cost only £500). That means it goes to someone who knows and that being the case, more money spent at purchase will pay dividends during the car's lifetime. I see this as one less soon to show on 'How many left?'
Am I right or did I see a flash up before the re-listing of it at 'Buy it now - £7500'. I think I did.
