I have a product if anyone in the UK, Teesside area wants to see it. Make your own mind up. Dealer level (both masser and ferrari) for at a guess £200. I would need to source the heads again as I have had mine for a good few years. If there is interest I'll look into it.

What is this "product"? And what do you mean by the "heads"?

For VW can't beat the genuine VagCom from Ross-Tech (needs Laptop)
For LR I use iCarSoft handheld (does Jaguar as well) but no print out or saving of displayed output
For Mas seems Foxwell is the one to get if unable to wait for EasyMas.
I think their dealer level version will come first though... this month?
I use iCarSoft for Mrs1963’s SLK it’s not a bad bit of kit for the price.

Yes I’m exactly the same VCDS from Ross Tech for VW and iCarsoft for JLR. Have you managed to update your iCarsoft online.

No. But this coz I'm stuck here with two olde PCs with WinXP service pack III
which their site doesn't support. These PCs are so olde that they only have USB1 outputs.

:as009:Have sourced flash new kit I'll be getting once I've moved out of inner London
(where loony La... <redacted> councils hate the private motorist. Especially petrol heads that have a SLR, Range Rover, and a QP5!)

... if they don't like something they ban it

@StickyPlastics
Could you please tell me which solution you are using to diagnose the Maserati you mentioned a few post before? Thank you

@Steve4200
Will the easymas tool be avalaible during november? Or do you have to postpone the release?

Thank you also

EasyMAS was ready for first release subject to vehicle testing during 1st week of November 2020 - then Lockdown 2. Unfortunately that has caused some delay which may drift into December 2020.

Speaking of diagnostics, my '08MY QP5 drivers' side glove box sprung open and would not latch closed. When I got home I removed the top pocket leather cover by its two below hinge bolts and could see that the latch clip appeared slightly bent downwards.
So unscrewed the OBDII diagnostic socket cover (only one of the finger bolts holding in place) Down dropped two flying sockets connected to a single black canvass wrapped loom that I thought I might've pulled out when pulling down the socket cover.

Confused, still of south Blackheath here... Having found out that the two flying sockets don't go anywhere (presumably part of a loom that's on another model that does do things) set about trying to fix the latch of my drivers' side glove box. Flap's pull out lever doesn't do anything to the latch so "expert" said latch is broken. Oh, just a few quid I thought...
Lancaster Maserati A066526900 Door Lock Module £198.00 VAT £37.60 total £237.60
Same price H R Owen
They're havin' a larf aren't they?

Given that the release is in a month or two, what is the anticipated price / pricing structure?

More on driver's cubby hole drop down latch...

Refusing to have my wallet raped by main agent for £273 (inc VAT) for just the latch (18) mechanism -- removed same and found one of the latch's return spigots caught behind latch release lever. Moved back into position and latch latches closed and then releases with the front panel's release lever. Hurrah! (or so I thought)
Replaced all and latch still doesn't engage with fixed loop when flap is shut.

Saw an '07MY QP5 with all it's ECU and panel removed that seems to have far more of latch loop (25) protruding than mine does. Enquired with my friendly and reasonably pricing main agent who's parts' desk has gone on Covid-19 furlough...

Is everyone using Corona as an excuse not to work?

BTW -- Saw the EasyMas beta modules at my more than helpful new Sports Italia workshop down in Eastleigh. Two Bluetooth plug-ins one for the M138 the other for M139. The secret's in the laptop's software...

Was hoping to get someone to buy it me for Christmas...

Greetings Maserati Owners,

Whilst having direct access to a beautiful 4200 Coupe it soon became apparent that affordable diagnostics was hard to come by, made worse by lack of public domain information on how to access the vehicle various data streams. This situation was no surprise and applies to most if not all supercars.

Despite these issues we got hooked by the mystery and starting looking at a system to at least get faults codes and sensor data from a few Maserati ECU's.

Any solution obviously would not match the costly dealer SD machines or other limited available options but it certainly would give aftermarket DIY owners their own diagnostic capability.

So we set to work on this in 2016 and many times thinking why we started!

First starting with the Engine ECU using the OBDII standard, this like all vehicles late 90s onwards must provide mandatory data having the same format for all vehicle manufactures. Nothing special there as all generic OBDII scanners will work for the Maserati Engine ECU.

The first software project was to make it less OBDII generic by using terminology more suitable for V type engines - LH Bank, RH Bank etc. We have been writing and selling OBDII software for many years and with that a tested version was ready quite soon being put through its paces on the MY02 4200 Coupe.

The next project was to address the unknown and gain knowledge of diagnostics for F1 Gearbox, Suspension, Steering and ABS.

This was a vast and frustrating task with very little to go on. We started from scratch using knowledge of standard diagnostics protocols used on most commercial vehicles. Eventually success came in being able to get responses from various ECU's though at this stage the data was still meaningless.

Using actual SD Reports from previous servicing on the 4200 we could see the type of data to expect and by the time consuming process of disconnecting / reconnecting sensors, operating controls and driving we could see various fault codes and value changes. Again most of this information was meaningless but did follow certain patterns. Many of the faults codes are seen as standard for some ECU's but many are unique. Most seem match Ferrari descriptions available in the public domain, no surprise there. Well progress was very slow, simulating the various sensors and tracing ECU connections but light was at the end of the tunnel.

Then in late 2017 we lost the ability to test on the 4200 Coupe, at this point we purchased various ECU’s to test on.

At this point we are able to release beta versions for some ECU’s.

We kindly ask that 2 forum members with access to 1 or more different Maserati's give the system a try. Those members will get the hardware and software sent to them for free. They will not need to return and will receive any updates for free. All we ask is that they test and report back on occasion.

Please PM interest and available vehicles

Then once confidence is raised we will sell the system at a 3 month introductory offer to forum members at £395, free updates, free worldwide shipping and 3 year warranty on the hardware. Our Web store price will be £495 from the date of release.

Hopefully with the help from the forums we can grow this product and iron out any glitches on the way.

Current models, MY supported TBA but starting from 4200 Coupe MY02 and most models to MY10

Join the queue, mate!
No queue for me but would have liked to have a look to see its origins. The project seems dead. I believe autel ap200, dbscar5 or an idiag... need I mention any more that can do what the forums users need for a few hundred quid. Just my 2 cents from someone that knows that it doesnt take long to write a GUI for something already in the wild.
