drowning in oil!

No, I'm not a Qatari prince....but I feel like I am making one quite wealthy!

In an effort to source all the oils and fluids for a major service for the Gransports, I note the following;

Differential and gearbox oil - Replace at least once a year

and

"Duoselect" gearbox system oil level - Check every year

Question - Obviously I am missing something here....but what is the difference between the two, and what is the difference between the fluids one would require?

From what I know - the CC F1 box requires 2.7ltr of fully synthetic 75W-90 (I am thinking of Penrite - what a bugger it comes in 2.5ltr!)

Question - how much 75W-90 does the diff require?

Hoping someone can assist. Will post up all the parts I have managed to source and the prices in the hope this helps others with a ready-made 'pack' for a major service

The diff and the gearbox are housed in the same case and use the same oil. You'll need to buy 3 litres of 75W90. However choose your oil carefully as the synchros are brass and some GL5 additives will damage them.

The Duoselect/CC system uses Tutela CS speed - it is a hydraulic fluid that drives the actuator. Unless you have a diagnostic to perform a drain I would leave this well alone beyond topping up.

Thanks Voicey - the indi I'll be going to has the SD2 (3?) tool - so I'll just give him the bottle and leave it in his capable hands.

Thanks too for the tip on the 75W90 - I'll read up a bit more on the GL5. The spec states
75W-90API GL-5/GL-6/MT-1
Full Synthetic
MIL-L-PRF-2105E, Ford M2C-200C BTR 5M-50, Mack GO-J, Dana Axle, Eaton Axle Bulletin 90-104, GM HN201

That Rotra LSX is good stuff. Here's a bit of info of the main issues when selecting gear oil: https://aldousvoice.com/2017/03/26/oil-selection-for-ferrari-and-maserati-gearboxes/

Thanks voicey - it's an interesting read - but it is certainly a vexing issue. For instance, I read a few posts where members swear by Redline 75W90 - but I recall reading myself a Redline write up saying that these oils were not suited to transaxle applications. Which should theoretically mean...don't go there.

Do you have an opinion on whether or not this Penrite product may be a suitable replacement for the Tutela CS Speed F1 fluid? http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/ldas

It goes so far as to specify the tutela product - but I am sure this is an easy claim to make. The issue down under is many specified fluids (Shell Sprirax, AGIP Rotra) - are simply unattainable here.

The Penrite product is 60% cheaper than the Tutela - it's not worth compromising mechanicals - but I'd also prefer to pay less for what is essentially the same thing!
