Or....
"I've just been in Wetwang"
(which is probably better than the other way round!)

I have just come back from a long weekend in Yorkshire and enjoyed driving a a few nice roads (although it was mostly not driving but hanging out with relatives).

This run was particularly pleasant:

58217

Also spent a few hours in Beverly.
....which she seemed to enjoy.

Some nice roads there although generally busy certainly on a weekend. I was out that way myself a couple of weeks ago though more on the white roads than the yellow and enjoyed it.

We had a long weekend in and around Beverley , what a lovely place
If anyone is thinking of going to the area I can thoroughly reccomend the toll cottage in cottingham

Last year we just happened to drop on to cottingham folk festival , saw Steve Harley & cockney rebel like you should see a band, 10ft from the stage not watching on a screen from 100 metres away or the back of a football ground
August bank holiday

Should have called in Mark.

The Malton/Wetwang/Beverley road can be a fun drive if you don't too much traffic. Though there are some overtaking opportunities along the route to make it interesting.

Glad you enjoyed visiting God's own county.

You're very lucky to live in Yorkshire Mick, York is my favourite city to visit, for anyone that's never been it really should be on your to do list

Expect 30 to 40 speeding tickets in the coming days. The NYPD* are the most insidious, sneaky slippery bunch of wankers ever to be shat into creation. You won’t even know they’ve done you till the letters arrive.
Be afraid.

I got one at Bilborough Top (A64), 81 in a 70, I've no idea how since I'd been at the services there for a Mickey D's and whilst I don't know where they hid the camera but I'm sure it must bee on the bridge for the services when you come Eastbound....

I was in a Cadillac CTS, 3.6 auto but no drivers car, rolled like barge on an elastic tiller.....

I got 6 points at the top of Sutton bank a couple years ago  sneaky hidden mobile van caught me doing away from them.

That aside love Yorkshire, stunning part of the world

30 to 40 speeding tickets, might be worth looking into a season pass for the bus

A guy who works with a mate has been on the awareness course and 12 points on his licence but still driving , he got done by the same fixed camera twice in a month
Pleaded hardship as he wouldn't be able to transport his disabled son to school so they let him keep his licence
Guy is a **** who deserves the ban , you get 3 chances if you're not being stupid so he cant say he hasn't been warned ,he can still drive so **** everybody else's safety as long as his son can get to school

I got done round there for similar, shortly after so did my old man, he didn't know he'd been done either.
Both my last 2 were in NY, both hidden mobile cams and both a couple of mph over. Got to the point where I almost refuse to drive there, pretty difficult when you live on west yorks. Still the best county ever though, of course

81 in a 70 isn't a couple of mph over, a couple of mph over the 10% + 2-3mph allowance maybe.

No one has ever been prosecuted for 72 in a 70 unless they were weaving in and out of traffic.

If you decide to drive over the speed limit you take your chances, you can't blame the authorities for prosecuting you when you made the decision to do it!
