Driver Window Mech...

Had a fantastic journey in the Maser, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Holyhead and home, trouble free except....

Waiting to drive off the Stena Adventurer at Holyhead, wound driver window down to listen to announcements and heard the ominous sound of something either snapping or breaking but window still lowered on button until 3/4's down and now nothing.

Now I've had trouble with this before, it's never worked properly so I was kind of expecting this. Dunno if anyone remembers but window would only lower on button, and raise only after reaching the bottom and then would only raise in burst, needing repeat use of the window button.

I've replaced the motor, so it's not that, should I assume it's the regulator?

Or something else?

On a lighter note on the ferry car deck one chap asked me 'what car is that?' despite the boot script staring at him, told him and he went all gooey-eyed. Another chap I caught looking through the driver window (before it broke) and asked me if it was a Tesla. Mortified, I said 'No!' and told him it's a Maser and he was all over it - beautiful car, etc....

If its the same problemI had, my rubber band inside the door card snapped! £650 inc labor. I suspect a rubber band is not the correct term but looked like that.

Where's Dave when you need him? AlfaTwo ARE YOU OUT THERE?

My old Honda used to get more attention at the pumps than the Maser, until I started up. The 'voice' always gets them 'interested'- for me, nothing sounds as good. Amazing how one of the best motors produced can quietly hide itself with the key out. It's not obviously flash until it passes you - window at half-mast, throwing out fault codes like old petrol coupons. Best car ever - when it's on song!

My current fault codes:

1. TPMS, spent loads on ECU's time to just live with it...

2. Parking Sensor Failure. Fails on cold start if cold out, engine warms up and/or general temp increases, no fault.

3. Service indicator. Done my me, Foxwell NT5 something on order.....

I've had both of these.

The snapping and breaking (passenger side) was cured by giving Migliore £650.

The strange button behaviour (drivers side) was cured (for now) by spraying a pint of WD40 into the door.
