Downloading music to the jukebox query

I'm using my laid up time to finally get around to uploading music to the jukebox in my 2009 GTS. It takes ages to upload from a memory stick. Is it okay to upload with the engine not running or will this drain the battery? Cheers, Nigel

As far as "uploading goes" I think it is better to do as your driving around. BUT don't shut off engine whilst uploading is in process....you will get tracks that end half way through the upload.....have several of those sadly.

Best way I found is to stick all your ripped CDs and any other mp3s on a USB stick and transfer from there. Doing it via CD is tedious. And you can do it with the engine off but ignition on.

Yep, doing it via USB although it only seems to download 250 tracks at a time. Just a little worried whether doing it with the engine off but ignition on will drain the battery. Trying not to annoy the neighbours - although the 2 car nuts near where I live love to hear the engine anyway!

It will definitely run your battery down, but how long it takes, will depend on how good your battery is obviously.
Do you have a charger?

I have always downloaded when driving a bit tedious but one CD only takes about 15 - 20 minutes depending on number of tracks. I would think trying to download with the engine off and ignition on will flatten the battery eventually. Once done the quality is pretty good so worth the effort.

Yep the tortuous way downloading CD's works it will drain the battery. I downloaded mine (took hours) by having the CTEK plugged in at the same time......

Ctek seems like the obvious choice. I cycle the roof regularly during the Winter - always with the ctek to cover battery drain.

I have a pretty good list on Amazon Alexa which I can download to phone, iPad etc for using offline. is there a way to get that playlist onto the jukebox?
