Does anyone know which month in 2004 the 4200 face lift came in?

I have recently bought a 4200 with Gransport side skirting. I assumed it was a facelift model as it has the 'snoop nosed' front bumper. However, after purchasing I feel perhaps the front bumper may have also been replaced? Does anyone know the exact month the facelift came in? Mine is June 2004. I think the facelift may have been later 2004?

It was officially September 2004, but I do know of June and July reg’d facelifts. The car in the picture has Gransport Side Skirts which are definitely retro-fitted. If you have a cup holder by the handbrake then it’s a facelift, if not, it’s not. If your service book is the original, it will say on Page 1, MY04 (pre facelift) or MY05, facelift.
If it’s a MY04, it’s got the upgrades of the MY05 (suspension, gearbox etc) without the aesthetic upgrades (GS bumpers, cup holder). If it’s an 03MY, you’ve been cleverly fooled. Hope that’s of help.

I think I remember this car for sale. From memory it is not a facelift but with front GS bumper and side skirts. I'm sure the rear bumper was Classico and interior of course non facelift.

As Dicky says easy spot is if you have a cup holder or not. Facelift had a cup holder mainly.

^^^ Exactly what Richard has said. The bumper appears to be a Classico as I think you would see the lower indentation of the vent by now (As a photo of mine shows). Also, the alloys may also be a bit of a give away as these are also Classico. The face-lift usually had seven spoke alloys...............Looks like a very nice car BTW!!64939

From memory, the facelift had blue instrument dials, not the grey of the classico. So that’s another easy interior detail to check.

To confuse things even more, you also have the revised 2003/4 models that had slightly different gear shift surrounding and deleated the rear antenna. This was also when the 7 spoke wheels became a option to the multispokes.

Thanks everyone. I’ve also seen other June/July facelifts which is why I wondered if the front nose cone was real. I’m surprised it fits so well to be honest!
I was told it had a Gransport body kit when I bought it including badges and door trim so I wasn’t ‘conned’ in anyway. Just wasn’t sure if the front had been changed as well.
I was pretty sure it is a pre-facelift due to the rear bumper and the wheels. But now learning on here that it doesn’t have a cup holder or the chromed plastic shrouds around the lights. Plus it does say in the service book MY04 this has clarified it to me.
Now I know it’s not ‘original’ I may go ahead and add a lightly custom parts such as rear bumper to match the rest of it?!
I’m very pleased with the car anyway. I used to have a 3200 forgotten how many people stop you to look at and chat about the Maserati!

I knew it was a GS side skirt when purchased but wasn't sure if the nose cone is the same on the facelift and the GS, or if it was original? Thanks for your help.

The GS front bumper and facelift 4200 are very slightly different. The same other than the small brake vent on the sides that is on the GS. It not the facelift 4200.

Call a Maserati MD with your ViN and they’ll give you a specification check which will show you for sure.

Regarding the front bumper, the GS lower lip sticks out further than the facelift one does (ah Vampy, see you saw that). It looks like yours does stick out more in your pic so I believe it is a GS front bumper and not the facelift one it may or may not have come with.

Also your wheels are Classico ones.
