Hi DK engineering are pretty close to me.

I need some work done on my 3200. Has anyone used them?

I can't find many reviews on this forum but they are listed on the specialist thread..

They’re a mile from my house. I’ve spoken to them over the years regarding servicing and repairs of various Maseratis and found them to be unresponsive and frankly disinterested. It’s an outstanding company with an excellent reputation, but my experience is unless you have something rare/expensive/Ferrari they don’t really offer the same as other Indies. They’re also eye-wateringly expensive. Plenty of other places to try who will know more about your car and empty your wallet less.

Yep that's the place

Any suggestions not to far off?

I can travel around and a bit outside the London area. Keen to go to a place where I won't need to remortgage my house after. What about giallo?

AV Engineering isn’t too far outside London and is well regarded here. Had a few detailed blog posts on the 3200 also.

I am told by an acquaintance of mine that Bell Classics at Markyate have a Maserati trained mechanic but have not used them personally as my car has been going to Sportsitalia.
They look to be at the top end of the market so could well be pricey.
It’s less than £200 each way to have your car transported to Sportsitalia.

What work do you need going?

I would have thought McGrath Maserati in Kimpton Herts or Grimaldi Engineering in Halstead Essex would be ideal, but are very experienced with 3200. Expect labour rates around £95 plus vat .

Trouble is Rex, people who own 12k/18k old 3200's don't want to spend £100 plus per hour plus vat labour rates!

That's exactly the labour rates which DK have quoted me.

I agree that’s why l ask what work he wanted done as most things can be done by a good garage. I have a friend who owns a garage in the reading area who owns a 3200 and 4200 who can do most things at reasonable rates.

Well I have a few oil leaks and there is a problem with the suspension. I have an error light. I have replaced the actuator but the light remains so it must be something else?

Wouldn't touch Grimaldi, personally. Happy to share experience.

Oil leaks could be done by any good mechanic but the suspension needs a garage that has an Sd2 tester. If it was me l would double check that you can feel all 4 actuators are rotating and make sure they are seated properly. If the error still persists then l would take it to some who has experience of the 3200.

You could try motorvationclassics.com they are in Sarratt and look after quite a lot of older performance cars such as Astons, Jags and Ferraris as well as more modern stuff.

I have used DK in the past for a Ferrari. They’re obviously very good but not that much cheaper than a main dealer. Unless you own an F40, 275GTB etc... you are not really interesting to them and you will def feel like you’re a nuisance to them.

I would stay away if I were you. Bell and Classic is very good and a bit cheaper... they’re master tech (Atilio) is probably one of the best Ferrari mechanics on the planet.

Grimaldi has always been ok for me, but last I was there* they did seem a bit more focused on bigger resto / overhaul projects on F40s and 50s. Not quite as high-end as DK, but I think odd jobs here and there are less interesting to them.

*which, now I come to think of it, was maybe 4/5 years ago, so feel free to ignore me. On balance, I'd get down to SportsItalia.
