I remember once, Boxing Day match at the Reebok, Bolton 2-2 West Brom., we returned to the car park/field and find snow everywhere and cars frozen up. We go it in ours easily enough but the old fella we saw was struggling with his so we offered our help.

Tried ever think, hands on lock/handle hooking down the window seals and James, my mate tried the old hot breath on the lock cupped hands and lips as close as possible. Didn't work.

So I had this brainwave! Let's piiss on it, hot piiss will do the job...

The old fella says 'No, I tried that already....'

I cover my windscreen with an offcut of a table protector. Hook it under the doors and in the morning just whip it off and clear windscreen.

Aye but what about the other windows? While you're scraping the other five, inc rear cos element is slow, the climate control will have done the windscreen anyway...

No point doing the sunroof but never sure about the lights....

I just start the car, put a box of accounts on the drivers seat and switch the heated seat on and finish getting ready.

Lovely!

Same happened to me recently...!
Annoyingly, my T5 will blow a fuse if you try and wash your screen whilst the washer fluid is still frozen...and thawing this can take a good while !

Was it 2010 , that cold winter , at the services on the M1 they had all the pre mixed (for your convenience) winter screen wash outside in 5L bottles , all of it was frozen solid

I buy the -20 stuff and mix it 50/50 , never had a problem in the UK with a frozen washer bottle

I might give this a go

Heated seats do wonders for muscular-skeletal decrepitude....!
After decades in the woods and up trees, it's permanently on in my motor.

Hahaha! You need to scrape it off, and remember to lift the wipers first before using them, you'll either blow a fuse or lose the bottom of the blade.

Tried this but just re froze, then there's the problem of what to do with the bag when you've finished.
Quicker to use a scraper.
