Curve card

It has annoyed me that Barclays does not support Google Pay, that I would find useful on my smartwatch, especially as 'cash' is seen as now being 'dirty' with regard to covid-19.
Never heard of curve, until by accident today.
Looks quite interesting with a few interesting features.
Anyone using a curve card?

I hadn't heard of it either - till now. Just signed up as Tesco card also doesn't do Google Play. Took me all of 10 minutes. Job done. Just got to see it in action. Bit late to go shopping

You learn something every day, just read up on this as never knew it existed, the section 75 is a pain for larger transactions otherwise a good idea.

For sure larger transactions, holidays etc, wouldn't use it but day to day transactions fine.
I'm just thinking as a way of being able to use Google pay and initially Sony Wena which Curve is the only option, and how I found out about it.

Yes I see what you mean, I have a cover on my phone which includes a slot for one card so this would be perfect.

In fact if you sign up with my promo code we each get £5....

DZ7LWGKN

Used for the first time this morning. Small purchase online from tool station. Deliberately used 'wrong' card.
Purchase went through fine.
Used the time machine facility on the app to reassign to the 'correct' card.
Worked as advertised.
Plus I can get a receipt email at touch of one button....so far so good!

And today used Curve as Google Pay linked to Tesco Card then changed the payment using curve to a Santander card. All good. So for me it gets a big shout out!

Does anyone here use a Revolut card here ? We all use it here I assume is a similar concept

Been doing a bit of research, Revolut is a bank account so it holds money, Curve does not and charges through to other banks/cards, so quite different.
Revolut is also not based in the UK so your protection is limited if they went bust with your money, if you live in the UK.
There are better UK options for similar app based bank accounts if you are in the UK.
I haven't signed up to Curve as yet (so I can use Google Pay with Barclays).
The reviews on the google play store are shocking for it, but mostly problems with Samson Pay it appears.

I am still in the dark ages - cash is my preferred method for face to face payment, I have a credit card for online things and my debit card.
For online banking I leave that to my wife, but have set up a separate bank account so limited access to funds, if we get spammed or hacked the inconvenience is limited and the main account can not be compromised.
My kids in the other hand are the opposite, don’t carry cash, pay by phone, full internet banking - god I feel old !

I see it as a badge of honour not to use cash - whether personal or business expenses.

I have my Amex and Halifax card linked to GooglePay and rarely even carry my wallet now.

Benefit of Halifax clarity is no foreign fees so just pay (a very good) FX on transactions

With Google Pay on my smartwatch, with biometrics for security, no restrictive limit like normal contactless.
Also as soon as I paid for the fish and chips tonight using my watch, got an immediate notification of the amount of the transaction on my watch. Nice.

The guy who runs our chippy looks like the tall bald shop cleaner guy in Hot Fuzz that says 'yarp'. Also his personality is identical......
