Hi on my 2002 spyder when turning the ignition key it is smooth until I get to the start position then it’s sort of crunches.
Is this normal or is the switch on it’s way out, it does start fine just feels wrong.

Broken spring maybe as it is fine upto the point the spring goes under maximum tension. If it was the barrels/ cylinders i would expect it to crunch all the way through the key positions.

The lock return spring mechanism is a seperate part but a PITA to fit. Small grub screw that you have to drill out through lack of access. There is s thread somewhere with catmans old 4200. Sticky key / sticking ignition possibly if you search.
