It was amazing, and that’s from a Scot. But pull yourself together, they will collapse in the next one and make it all pointless. At least Stokes will take home Sports Personality this year and maybe an mbe or whatever.

It was impressive / miraculous. Some of you have met my youngest lad. He’s been the net bowler up at Headingley, helping the teams warm up. When he was bowling against the Aussies the crowd in the stands behind were chanting ‘convict’ at him. Which, happily, he quite enjoyed.

I don’t follow sport generally but caught most of the match whilst in my local pub garden - truly amazing, and I love the fact someone apparently edited Wikipedia to define “The Ashes” as a test cricket match between Ben Stokes and Australia.

He had a few games with the Essex under 19s but now playing for his uni (York) as well as Welton. He was the net spin bowler for the World Cup games at Headingley, so is building up quite a pile of free merchandise.

How can anyone think it's interesting? Sorry I simply do not get the attraction of watching another group of people do something else. That's the same for the things I enjoy doing!
