Crazy price for a ghibli cup in a very sorry state

Some saving yet to go! But I meant what I said – my top three cars are the Alfa Romeo SZ (haven't driven it yet, but I've driven a similar 75 Cloverleaf) and the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, and the Cup combines the best elements of those cars in the driving experience.*
According to my man maths, that's a saving of around £100,000 at least so I shall be putting Cup ownership to the finance committee (wife) as a cost-saving exercise. Ahem.
How's your fleet?

* well, until it rains.

SZ and 75 Cloverleaf are totally different to drive, they may have a lot of similar parts but that is where it ends. If you fancy a trip to Ireland you're welcome to have a go in mine you won't regret it

Sorry I should have clarified that - the 75 Cloverleaf I drove was an Alex Jupe fettled machine to fast road spec. I’m expecting the SZ to be different (I’m driving one this week, as it happens), but not quite as different as a normal 75 would be.

I’ve been offered a Ghibli Cup this week and discussed the sale of one other one too; I assume this one of them. I need to view the car to value it accurately, no one can value such a car unseen.

The car is currently in Germany so I doubt you have been offered this car. It is part of a collection from a deceased estate.

My last one is available for £60k or so. Not that I’d pay that. They don’t make sense at more than £40k to me, as there are so many far better cars at the money. But I understand their appeal, and someone may well be happy to pay £50k or so, possibly more.

Not an easy car to use now either, given that there are no more left headlights available (Inexplicably they crack regularly and need replacing), nor bonnets, nor the back panel, etc. As ever with this era of Maserati, lots of bits are NLA.

Headlights have been reproduced by aftermarket suppliers and are available again albeit at a hefty price tag.

Ewan. Thank you for your input on valuation. The car is a good as it gets in terms of original condition. The family are looking for £60k which may be slightly optimistic. Time will tell.

There's no queue of people with £60k wanting to spend it on a CUP, so I wouldn't rush in if I was you. There's no harm in them asking that figure, but I'd be amazed if anyone paid that much, especially as a private purchase.
