Thanks all! Was very proud of the result and looks exactly the same as the GS grille.

When circumstances permit will have to try to convince Stu again for his parts and I’ll buy the Gransport replica wheels from Eurospares and I’ll be sorted.

For now I have the upper dash that I need to have re-dyed/ re-trimmed as the previous owner absolutely destroyed it with whatever he did and will also re-dye the brown piping on the dash and door cards red- similar to how my Gransport was.

Had the upper dash re trimmed in black leather with tan stitching- I think it looks much better now.

I think I’m going to dye the piping black. Any ideas on how this could be done at home? Paint pen maybe?

You're going a great job. I think Dark blue would probably look best.

Hopefully @conaero can give you a bit of advice.

From what he said previously (i've not done it) some 3M Thin Line masking, all around the piping. Then larger masking and plastic to protect other areas from overspray. Then spray it, or paint it by whatever method. Spray would likely give the best finish.

A brown steering wheel? Whilst you are at it, I'd be doing that as well - all black. A re-trim would however look better.

Dash top looks great big improvement

@rossyl I kind of like the steering wheel - surely this would have been an expensive option so maybe more sensible to save it and buy a used black wheel ?

I've no idea really, I just prefer it in black. But, horses for courses. My car is bright yellow, so what do i know! :)

To be fair the ofenomeno99 is in Kuwait where used parts seem to be worth a fraction of what they are worth in Europe so chopping and changing interior parts would cost a lot less than it would in the UK

Not always the case, in Saudi Arabia there's very few if any, and in the UAE the one breaker who had a 4200 was asking for extortionate prices to where you're better off going to the main dealer. (He wanted £400 for a used door lock mechanism) Eurospares sells it for a tenth of the price brand new.

I heard Kuwait is better particularly regarding exotic brands from the Middle East, but I've never been.

Cheers all- I would have also preferred a black steering wheel but thought the only way it would make sense was that if I eventually find a black GS steering at a decent price- but I am prioritising the exterior for now.

It makes a nice change from my GT Sport which has the tan dash with the black steering.

Interesting incite thanks. HK seems to have good value breakers it is where my used GS wheel came from

I'm still surprised how cheap that QP grille was I would happily have one at £50 to put on the wall

I guess it is down to the breaker and how quick they want a return on investment. I recently got a used skyhook suspension ECU for an experiment from a breaker in Germany for only £75+delivery. It was the updated version of the part which ES are asking £300 for a used one...

Maserati parts are indeed very cheap here but I think this goes down to their being no demand and no supply for our cars I.e. their aren’t many old Maseratis around and when their are any for breaking, no ones really looking for the parts and this of course reflects on the prices which are pretty much determined by what you are willing to offer.

For example with the grille- I picked it off the shelf, walked over to the owner of the shop, started the conversation with I remember this exact grille from 5 years ago, you know no ones looking for a $h!t Maserati, let alone a $h!t grille, here’s a tenner- I’m doing you a favour by taking it off of you. This is where he says no I could sell it for X amount and you reply with okay then here’s £20 and count your lucky stars- and literally walk out with the grille :D if he stops you then you’re not done- if he gives up then it’s yours to keep haha

Quick update (took a while !) side skirts, carbon spoiler and front spoiler all done ! Just missing the rims now- the plan was to always go for the Eurospares replicas but found the newer GT 19 inch rims for 1/3 of the price. I know they don’t fit without modification but I feel they would look gorgeous once fitted and would suit the coupe really well. They are also wider in the rear so the stance would look nicer?

What do you think gents? Try something new or stick with the originals?

Big thanks to @Vampyrebat and @GilbertTHB for the spoilers and washer cover !

GranTurismo is a different PCD (bolt pattern) I think.

Ones that have the same 5x108 are the Ferraris of the period (550, 360, F430), Alfa 166 and oddly enough lots of Volvos.
