Coupe prices - what's happening?

Something for someone who loves to tinker and can do the work themselves, they could have a worthwhile car. If you have to use garages to go the work then is it viable financially? Possibly, possibly not.

If I could find one over here I'd be straight on to it and be a happy boy getting it sorted for next Summer that's for sure.

Bit odd for a car enthusiasts!
Mentions children, attachment, “reluctant sale” multiple times. Sometimes sellers (or scammers) use emotion to soften suspicion.
To me it does read like someone polishing the story to make the car sound easier to revive than it likely is.
If it is that good, battery in, fire up the engine and give it an MOT. Very basic…
Maybe oil pump gone…?

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I wouldn't be that scared - it has been garaged after all. I'd go there Jonny Smith style with a can of hope, get it started and if it gets up to temp and has oil pressure it'd be worth a punt, especially as there's more to come off that price.

Anyone want to hold my hand on that GS? I wouldn’t know what to do but would be a fun day out, I’m great value!

You're going to fit in here very well.
If I was in the UK is have already been there especially as I like Cambio Corsa.

I reckon that will fire straight up with a fresh battery or jump pack.
No body is going to buy it without the engine seen running.

It’s bloody tempting. I just can’t see it simply being battery, fresh fuel and fluids changed. I can do all that for not a lot as my mate has a fuel-taker-outta-thingy

You would be hard pressed to find ANY lhd assetto corsa for this price in Europe.
I'm always surprised when I look at the price difference (same with the US market, I can't understand how you can find there a gransport for less than 20k$, often even a gransport spyder for less than 20k$).

Second that as I look daily here in France and the Good ones seem to sell fairly easily too.

There's a manual 4200 coupe at auction this weekend at WB&Sons in Newcastle.
Sensible mileage and looks in perfectly okay condition as far as can be seen from the pics and video. But has a problem with the clutch (maybe clutch cylinder) that needs fixing, as currently won't go into gear when the engine's running, apparently.
Bottom price guide is just £4500.
Could be steal for a mechanically-minded person.

If the clutch is similar to a manual 3200, then an Alfa slave cylinder is available that fits, as the Maserati part was unobtainable, no surprise!

The 4200 manual slave cylinder can be replaced by an Audi TT part, though you need to open it up and swap the piston over as one is longer than the other. Can’t recall the part number but there is a thread by user Geo on here somewhere with the info. The piston swap is easy enough, I did mine last year.

When bleeding, you need to lift the clutch pedal all the way up as otherwise it leaves some air in that can stop the clutch disengaging.

Expensive museum piece here in NZ at the moment for sale on Trademe. 2004 Maserati Coupe 5,500km (3,400mls) not even on the road till 2015? Not cheap compared to others for sale at NZ$64,990 (28k pound).

When I was working for Auckland Maserati in Newmarket back then we brought some new old stock over from Singapore and put on the road.
I wonder if that was one I can remember a GS and a 3200.
