Coupe offside brake bulb replacement

Warning light came up to say a bulb had gone on my 2002 coupe, turns out it’s the offside brake bulb. Got the replacement bulb but when I’ve gone to fit I’ve realised that the cd changer is limiting access to replace the bulb.

Do I have to remove the cd changer to change the bulb or is it easier to remove the whole rear light box to access the back of the bulbs?

Thought this was going to be an easier / quick job ?!

Can’t you get at it from the wheel arch?
I did give that a thought but the ballast has to come off to get to the build and there’s no space. It seems that from reading various forums and watching YouTube it’s the only way. I’m doing both side while I’m in there.

So sorted this last weekend. Had to take the boot liner out and the cd changer to sort. However it was a useful exercise as hiding under the boot liner was a 22mm socket head which explains the rattle I kept hearing!!!!
