Cost of covered transport

All,

I’m about to pay to get my Gransport trailered down to Emblem and First Choice Detailing for some love, care and attention... and am interested in views from those with personal experience on what would be a reasonable cost for a covered trailer?

I live just inside the M25, so pretty much exactly 100 miles...

Thanks

I paid around £280 for a fully insured covered trailer from Bedford to Ashford.

I have some new contacts who might be able to help you. PM me the addresses and I will ask the question for you.

Mmmm.....I've had issues twice....well 3 times if you count the TVR. All recovered with no charge under my standard membership.

The 4200 went to a garage in Manchester and the E55K to a garage in Brixton. The TVR just came home

Thanks - I do have full RAC coverage, but as Mark says would not be covered transport. I can also easily drive it down there (assuming I want to take a day off work), but am interested in what would be a reasonable cost to pay to have someone transport it...

They took mine on a Saturday morning and kept it until the following Saturday. Saves taking the day off and a good excuse for a nice run.

The train is a bit of a bull ache it must be said.

Take it on a Saturday and pick it up the following. It's what I do

When you say covered I assume you mean hard covered as opposed to a soft car cover strapped down?

Yes - the car will be in with Emblem for a week or so, and then having a paint correction, full detail and PPF applied while I’m away during July. So I’m keen that when I get it back it’s immaculate...

I could do this I guess. The train back from Bournemouth to home is a bit of a schlep though... probably worth looking into if it’s going to save me hundreds of pounds ££££

All the AA d did was cover my number plate for my rights of passage low loader trip to Poole. Second time not even that! (But jolly pleased that they provide such a service!)

Have thought about it some more.... If I deliver the car myself to Bournemouth on a Saturday, get the train back, and then repeat that process 4 weeks later, that would mean I got two decent drives in the car, and would save myself roughly £500. My man maths calculator tells me that means a free Larini x-pipe!

Win, win, win....

Don't Emblem have a transporter of their own now?... sure I recall it on their news feed some years back.

They did offer me delivery / transport as an option, but I don't know the details.
Yes, they have a company that does all their work, cost me £150 to have mine picked up and delivered to them, a distance of about 35 miles, and the same to have it brought back.
