Cleaning after a journey

Next weekend we have a family wedding and the GT will feature as transport and likely photos. The problem is it’s a three hour drive from here. I will of course wash it beforehand but what would be the consensus for whatever wash it may need at the other end? Ideally not taking buckets and sponges with me but if that’s what it takes!

Usual wash finishes with auto glym aqua wax.

Is there a ready2wash near where you are heading? You can then jet wash, snow, rinse, wax and use osmosis rinse to finish.

Interesting thanks, I’d not heard of that however it’s in the wilds of Wales so not this time. I’m not expecting to need a full wash again (I hope) but there is bound to be something. Just wondering if anyone has any trick products or whether I should just take some water/sponge/micro fibre and hope no bullseye birds are about!

I used Chemical Guys P40 Detailer Spray with Carnauba (other similar products available) when I went to a recent event at Prescott. Used with a few clean long-pile microfibre cloths it removed the majority of the light dust and grime that was attached to the car by the end of the journey, It helped that it was a dry day and the roads were largely clean and dry. I wouldn't have fancied relying on it if it had been a miserable day with lots of spray and grime, but it worked well for a quick clean-up.

So long as the car is well protected before you go, you could just use a spay detailer and lots of microfibres. I have done this on arrival at many shows after long drives.
I use demon shine from halfords but dilute it by 50%
However I am not as precious as I could be.

Bug City. Bug remover, soapy water, quick detailer, cloths. I have used a waterless wash before but always jet washed it first. They still have those in Wales I imagine.

Agree with the comments here. Lubrication is key to avoid scratches so don’t be shy with the quick detailer and take multiple microfibre cloths, turning and changing them often working in straight lines.

If you get ceramics done it will be really easy, just rinse or lightly shampoo to loosen anything and dry with a shammy what water is left (most will fall off if you move the car a bit) and that's that.. you can bring a microfibre cloth to get rid of any fingerprints etc.

Its only likely to need spot cleaning or bird poop removing. This stuff is spray on leave for a few seconds and wipe off. Just take two micro fibre cloths with you. One to remove any dirt, flies or bird goop and the sexond cloth to buff off. It does contain a wax so buffs to a shine.

I keep a bottle in the boot for emergency bird goop removal.
