When I had my 3200 people thought it cost me 70k not 21k....

Mine cost me less than a new golf, but I still got passed by a colleague at work on his bike on the way home yesterday while waiting at the lights- he said I'm obviously getting paid too much!

Ah but Andy, the difference is between price and worth.

the 3200 is worth a lot more to me than the price paid for it......and others assume it is worth more than its cash value too.

Cheers

We are not talking about whether your Maserati looks more expensive than you actually paid for it because that goes without question. What we are debating is will our cheap buy ever be worth significanly more than we paid for it?????

If I loose a grand a year it still would be worth every compliment, every admiring glance, every "you paid how much??!!", every exhaust note, etc etc

Welcome to the forum Gordon..

Would also agree with Ghibli Cup and if you look at prices they are pretty firm... A standard Ghibli of same age is under 10k and a cup id 1round 15/16k so it's already showing it could be a good bet.

I think the 3200, AC, 4200 and GS are seen as progressions of the same idea, but the 3200 is the initial idea in it's pure form with the AC it's first limited number progression.

Whether there's any financial gain remains to be seen, but I think it is right to say that the 3200 will hold a hallowed place in Maserati history, and is already more widely regarded as a design classic that encapsulates a moment in automotive design, only enhanced by the fact that it marked the closure of one chapter and the opening of another.
