This should set the cat amongst the pigeons.........Will the 3200, 4200 or Gransport ever reach classic car status and if so can anyone envisage it becoming a real collectors dream??????

Personally, I see the 3200 AC and the Gransport Spyder being elavated to rare and collectable

I'd vote for that, particularly as I have a 3200 AC.....

I think the AC will be as it was the best of the breed......The others we will have to see I think as the years move on.

I think you are right; the only hope for me would be that in the future all cars are flappy paddle, making mine collectable as one of the last of the manuals!

Yes, the smaller the model run and the better the performance means they are very likely to reach "iconic" status...........................but in about 50 years when there is no petrol....!!

The 3200 is the last of a bread of handbuilt cars, the GS is the better car, but its a cheapened version and whiffs of a more production model.

The AC being the top of the 32 bunch will for sure bag the highest classic status IMHO.

Agree with the comments on the AC, but by virtue of the 'last of a breed' status mentioned by Matt plus the low production numbers (approx 850 sold in the UK I think...far fewer remaining) I think any 3200 may become increasingly desireable if it's the right model (good colour etc), well looked after and low miles...as a lot are getting to be highish miles and a bit neglected now.

I'd like to think the GS would also be a good bet, though don't know what the production numbers were like.

The limited run cars, 3200 AC, 4200 MC Victory will be the ones to go for, others will be more like the Cortina 2000E's, still sought after but not attracting the same price.

One thing to note...will you be able to run these in a post petrol world
