Great to meet you both today.
Clearly I lucked in when I joined the forum.
I now have a nice piece of automotive art to put on my desk at work;)
No idea if this is expensive or cheap. There is an aluminium colour for double the price so I guess its cheap. :D

The colour is, usually, the difference between post-facelift (which uses push fittings) and pre-facelift (which uses Allen bolts) cars and how the unit is attached to the centre console.

I think there are some rare black post-facelift units which are confusingly referred to as Bordeaux as I think these were only fitted to post-facelift cars with the dark red interiors.

What was the problem with yours?

Geezer44's is toast in many areas. I assumed they were just colour differences, but if fittings are not the same that will make it more awkward to find the correct realistically priced one.

Hi All.
Quick update on the car.
I took her to SB Race Engineering in Aylesbury for a check over before I committed to having the clutch changed.
Considering I still cant find an F1 dashboard anywhere I just wanted them to get her running properly first.
They did a clutch reading @87% worn and advised replacing it but I asked them to adjust the PIS first and now drives perfectly without stalling when warm.
My reasoning was to run the car for a while first and when I am both financially and emotionally invested will get the work done.
The rough running was just a failed coil pack and now she is running and sounding perfect.
The only other thing needing immediate attention were the front coil springs which were duly replaced and a bit of paintless dent removal on the rear quarter.
Highly recommend SBR and will be using them for future servicing and maintenance.
Now to the everlasting quest for that F1 dashboard..........

The Maserati dealers in Stockholm said they never saw a 4200/Gransport in for a clutch change whilst they were still going. All waited until the clutch broke.
