Change oil soon

I asked if they were sure the oil was actually changed and they replied they are absolutely positive it was.. at least I have that in writing!
I would have asked them to change it again as a good will gesture, or provide evidence it has been (chemical annalist). They would have opted for the first I believe

If it is a diesel, the oil will be thin and stink of fuel if it had not been changed I imagine. My RR oil did when I changed it last.

I might check it myself (I run an oil QC lab for a living, not motor oil but there will be tests I can apply).

They also repaired an oil leak at the service so I would imagine they did change it.. they had 2 opportunities!

There are two resets required at service:

  • service indicator reset
  • oil life reset
I suspect they forgot the latter. This only applies to diesels.
Ciao
You dont happen to know if the OBDStar resets the service indicator and the oil life timer do you?
