Hi all, Just tried getting into the GS and the central locking unlocks then instantly relocks. Tried opening the door between unlock and lock which seems to cause a loop of never ending cycle of lock\unlock. Could this be battery related?
Cheers

There are lock solenoids and lock position sensors that may be causing your problems. I doubt its ur battery. But a weak battery doesn't help anything. If its old do urself a favor and replace it.

Larry is almost certainly correct. Try using the key each door in turn. The one that works properly is probably the one that needs replacing.

Had the same problem on my 4200. It's something to do with the locks getting out of sync. Make sure that both interior lock buttons are in 'EXACTLY' the same position. Fixed the problem.

I had exactly the same problem on my 3200gt about 18mths ago.
I'm convinced it was caused by a low battery and since replacing the battery and resetting all the locks, inc the boot, with the key manually I've not had the problem since. Give it a try before taking anything apart, it could be that simple.

Cheers,

Got to love these cars to put up with the electrical gremlins that pop up from time to time :)

Had the car a good couple of years now and the battery wasn't new then, I think for the price of a new one I'll change it.

so is it a malfunctioning solenoid on the side that the key fixed?

The solenoid, lock and sensors are all in one one unit. The plus point is they are only about £30 and an hour or so to swap out. But it is (normally) the side the key fixed that is failing.
