CD option not available in audio settings

Just purchased a 2009 granturismo GTS. I can't seem to get the CD to play and in 'audio settings' the CD option is not available. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

You have a CD in the slot I assume?
If so a CD cleaner would be my first stop

Yes, tried a few different CDs which I know work but no joy. I'll try a CD cleaner, good suggestion, but not sure how it'll 'play' if the CD player itself it not being recognised by the system.

More a case of it not seeing a CD..... But Phil will be able to help if it's banjaxed

I have a duff Blaupunkt 5 disc player (factory fitted under the steering column). Marios told me they cannot be fixed and not to buy one on ebay. Any suggestions please.

Get yourself a loudlink instead. It's plug and play replacing the cd changer

Well, I said 'some of the time'. Seems no rhyme or reason. Sometimes it works, next time I start it up it doesn't. I'm taking the unit out this weekend, could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere..hopefully.
