The grey interior of that era takes me back to 1980 high street shoes ( Timpson / Freeman Hardly Willis) so could not go there

They are correct, albeit very dirty. I maybe wrong but I think that the gaiter may have come from another car, maybe one with a red interior!!

You're quite correct. I was looking on my phone.
On my 4200 the rubber rectangle on the mat was only on the drivers side.

Didn’t see what it reached on classic car auctions but didn’t sell, there was a buy it now for £13k or so which changed to £16.5k after a day so presumably a mistake.
No mention of what the cat D was for and the details on service history were very light! Not obvious on a scan of the newest advert either.
