I doubt a bloke that attacked his girlfriend would get such positive social media attention. But that's not a suprise these days is it .

A few years ago two high profile American sportspeople were charged with domestic violence. Neither have been convicted.

An NFL player called Ray Rice punched his Mrs in a lift he was sacked by sponsors and his club and hasn’t played since.

The darling of the USA women’s football team, Hope Solo was charged with violently assaulting two of her family in a drunken rage after pounding her nephew’s head into a concrete floor and absolutely nothing has happened to her.

Like with everything there is good and bad media, you just have to choose which is which, and more importantly which you are going to countenance and which not

This isn't about the attack. She was being charged for this as would a male or anyone else. This is more about the hatred spouting from social media etc that has obviously had an effect on her mental state of mind. Even now there is still horrid low life out there spouting hatred even after her death. This is what has to change....

I have a morbid fascination with suicide, not in a scandal-type of way, just what they do it for, how they decide to do it, and at the exact moment, how the **** do you make the final cut?

Ian Curtis, Scot Hutchison, Robin Williams, even Adolf Hitler - how can you just turn the light off forever? No matter how bad I feel I'm hanging onto every thread of life under any circumstances, I'm not going until I'm ready which is probably never!

I'm not worried about pension, cos I love my work and will work until my mind goes really, then I won't care, my only worry is become physically *******, I'm 58 and I've not really been fit since my 20's, but for now it's all working but I imagine in 10/15 years I'll start feeling it. On the other hand I might be running marathons at 103!

Sadly dealt with dozens of suicides; the majority are not on a state of mind that can hold rational thoughts.

Domestic violence is wrong in any form...my issue in this case is that the boyfriend has specifically asked not to pursue the charges but CPS has persisted.

I get why they have continued to take this to court but it does feel a bit like public execution.

One thing I’ve been questioning is why an injunction couldn’t be bought about by Flack (or CPS) so that the media couldn’t publicise it?

We’ve seen it before where celebs/politicians/footballers have been able to avoid the limelight by remaining anonymous to protect themselves and their careers...not saying that’s right...but it does mean whatever the outcome, justice can be served without the need for media publicity

Personally I think both the CPS and Media have blood on their hands for constantly pushing this one to breaking point

Really !
The police and CPS have a responsibility to protect
those subject to domestic violence - what would people have said if they had not pressed on and the next time he took a nap she picked up the other beside lamp and killed him.

I can’t believe the fuss, yes it’s very very sad and for those touched by suicide (I have) it’s a terrible thing, but she took her own life - no one took it from her.

My brother was subject to domestic violence and could not get the police to take action, eventually after she broke his leg by pushing him into moving traffic, they arrested her, then released her pending investigation.

She need help and she needed support but she had to face the music.

Its a crime.

If it was up to the victim to decide, the potential for perpetrators threatening victims roundly increases.

Just because the victim decides they do not want to convict, the perpetrator has still broken the law. It doesn't matter what the victim wants.

I’m not saying she shouldn’t of faced the music and been charged...absolutely she should of.

Just don’t think it should have been allowed to play out in public to the extent it did
