Hi all - So i started looking into carbon fibre bits and saw super tweaks do these but the prices are crazy. I wondered if anyone had wrapped certain interior parts or had someone do this for them? I did a search on the forum but couldn't find anything?

Cheers all

Has anyone tried the air vents? I was looking more at those then also the screen bezel and handbrake/gears area etc.

I actually looked up how to lay carbon fibre myself as compared to wrapping the piece. It actually looks pretty doable and i think the finish and durability will be much higher. Although wrapping is much faster and easier.

Might be im just looking for stuff to do for the upcoming vacation :)

There are a few after market options from companies making genuine carbon pieces but yes, the prices are high.
As for OEM, there were a number of areas on the interior which Maserati offered as either a part of a carbon option package but also as individual carbon pieces. As far as I know, this is what was offered as OEM pieces, all for the Granturismo:

Interior trim pieces on rear side panels, centre section of door cards & top section next to window, central two piece section on dashboard
Door sill panels
Steering wheel
Instrument bezels
Paddle shifts
Console section around ash tray & park brake
Small section around 1 & R on MC Shift buttons

As far as I know, any other carbon on the interior such as the air vents and infotainment surrounds are aftermarket non OEM pieces not offered by Maserati. That's not to say that they don't look great of course

I wouldn't mind finding a company to do the wrapping for me tbh. I know i will end up tearing my car down and tearing my hair out with carbon wrap everywhere then not remembering how it all went back together :sad3:

I can vouch for a firm called Wicked Coatings on the south coast. The steering wheel cowl on my Vanquish was covered in the same rubberised coating as those in Massers and had gone sticky over time. They cleaned off the old covering and recovered it in new rubber coating and its perfect. They also do carbon fibre coating of parts and were featured on Wheeler Dealers a few years back, doing some parts on a Range Rover. Contact details below:

He's on the same estate as Trickett Welding who's welded up many a 4200 subframe to Emblem's standards.

Sam, do you think you'll attempt the internal door handle itself? Mine (like other QPV's) seem to find the finish deteriorating on them over time...

If your talking about the actual metal lever, I've not thought of that. And probably won't myself. If you did do that, I'd assume due to the shape of it you'd have to have a join in the wrap at the back, which you'd feel with your fingers when you used it.

I'd imagine getting something like that hydrodipped would be the way forward.

They def do the rubber coating and the finish was perfect and remains so with no sticky ness 2 years later.

I paid £155 inc VAT for the steering cowl. You get a better price if you send all the bits you want coating in one batch as opposed to individually. Once I had the cowl done it made some tiny speaker grilles look poor, so I sent them too afterwards but they were £100 as they had to set the rubber coating fluid process up just for these.

I've added wrapping the AC controls and buttons to the right of the screen in the link above in post #2.
