As some of you know I had my car up on Pistonheads with no joy.so I tried a few places for a decent trade in and to my surprise one company came back with £15000 after some negotiation !!!!.Its going Saturday but if anyone wants it at the trade in value you better be quick!!!.Hopefully this is a sign that the motor trade are looking at these cars as future investments.

When you say trade in, do you mean proper trade in against another car, or, a cash purchase.
What sort of age/mileage?

I have traded the car in for another car.F type jaguar.
My car was a 2005 65000 miles, and it seems nobody really wants to buy one without a warranty, making it difficult to sell privately

Very nice choice. Which one did you go for?

Nice choice. Love the F Type. Had a 400 Sport Coupe for a day and it was stunning to look at and impressive to drive. A great daily drive as well.

Nice car but can't get this issue with £500 road tax, you pay 10s of thousands for a car and then won't pay a couple of hundred more to tax it - bizarre.

If you ever feel bad about UK road tax take a look at what it costs in Ireland

agreed, the difference in the road tax is about £5 a week , just pay it on a £45 a month direct debit and forget about it

where it really becomes a problem is on something run of the mill at 10 years old, the car has plenty of life left in it but that £555 makes it utterly worthless

My sister has a Mitsubishi Shogun registered late 2006.
She was actually saying the same just today, they have just had it MOTed for another year, but to change it, it is worthless because the road tax is over £500.

Whaaaat???
The cheapest 2015 Ftype I can find on AT is £30k asking for a V6....
How can it be that nobody is interested in buying private for anything north of £20k???
Am I missing somethg?

I'm sure that was the plan when they introduced it , get the most polluting cars off the road by a set date based on known vehicle values, nobody on a budget is going to pay £555 to tax a £1000 car when they can buy a 10 year old diesel with free road tax.

crossed wires I think, I doubt a 15 plate maserati has been traded in for 15k unless it's wrapped round a tree, I think a 2005 maserati has been traded in for 15k against an F type but not the V8 tyre scorcher because it was 2 cups of starbucks a week extra to tax it

I think that's right

The 2 cups of Starbucks will come in handy but I think the extra £10,000 was a stumbling block !!!

I've driven neither, but from what I've read the V6S is the one to have anyway. And it also sounds delicious with the taps open. Is there a sports exhaust option on that? Plenty of aftermarket choices, I'm sure. Regardless, enjoy!
