Car Hire - Inverness airport

I find myself attending a party in the Highlands at the beginning of July and will need a set of wheels to get me there and back from the airport.

Any experience/advice for hiring from Inverness airport. All reviews I read are pretty poor. Only need a tiny car for 2 for 1 night.

None of them are particularly good I'm afraid. If you pm me your arrival and leave plans, happy to see if work allows me to offer a 32 taxi service for an SM member visiting God's country ;)

I have used Enterprise several times but in the town itself rather than the airport.
I know they will come and pick you up and pretty sure they collect from the airport although they have a branch there.
Never had any problems. Found them very helpful and efficient. Always ended up with a car a group up from what I requested. They do a "weekend" deal which can work out cheaper than 2 days.

Branch I use is in Longman drive Inverness.
Where do you need to get to when you land?

Highlander - That's very kind of you and I have every faith in your 3200 but I wouldn't want to impose on your weekend :)

Festivities are in Grantown-on-Spey so a bit of a drive from Inverness.

Do you have any spare time and can't you hire something interesting. Grantown-on-Spey puts you right at the start of possibly the best 70 miles of road in the UK ;)

I used to do work in the majority of the distilleries in that area. I can vouch for the roads, and scenery around there. Also stayed in Grantown-on-Spey a few times, it can get quite busy though.

I use Enterprise two or three times a week. Always happy with the service.

They will not collect from another offices patch but you could get a taxi to the city branch which will also offer lower rates.

If auto does not bither you then book one as there are fewer on fleet and you may get upgraded.

Thank all
I have gone with Enterprise. Unfortunately a flying visit. May have a few hours on Sat pm to drive around as the checkin at the B&B is not > 4pm. Gone for cheapest (Aygo or equiv).

I was trying to figure out if I could drive up in the maser but 9+ hours each way and 1100 miles, up on Sat back on Sun would have been a bit much!

And no doubt in the rain! ;)

Oddly enough I go to Grantown "Motormania" event almost every year and yet to get wet. Have seen Aviemore/Inverness raining on way there and back but sunny there.
That is first weekend in September however.

Yes, but your not from the south driving a Maserati. The rain gods see you differently. ;)

Now that might have been a plan....! Although I have never set foot inside a "dealer" in my life. I have "chancer" written all over me!
