The R5 turbo I posted in the pic thread is worth 80k according to the owner.
It's nuts, but seriously...

What's next?

Relative rarity, possibly high rate of attrition, everyman desirability.

There's clearly demand, but is that demand drying up with disinterested millennials that don't value n/a cars, manuals etc? Or is it just shifting?

Open question.

been thinking that for a while, once our generation are pushing up daisies who's going to be interested in cars that we adored/yearned for as we grew up

Well, I'm still interested in 1920s Bentley and Bugatti, and old Land Rovers, so maybe hope yet.

If we find them fulfilling to drive, with a sense of occasion, others will. But that leaves factors of parts availability, running costs and to some extent, hands on skills or at least inclination.

There is a “generational” sweet spot..

due to my age, I don’t hanker for anything Pre-late 1960’s except a Guilietta Spyder on drum brakes!!

I think 1995 to 2005 (before cambus and crazy electonic systems) is where the sweet spot is
There are some later cars that are relatively simple, but a minority e.g. Lotus.

Long thought I’d like to own one of these. Targa spec specifically. I usually come to my senses as I baulk at lurid interiors but this is lovely IMO!
Seems a quite modest estimate... Perhaps they have dropped in value in recent market turbulence....
Nuts aesthetics....:broke:

Looks very nice....wonder what it might make? Anyone registered to bid on Brightwells before? Just set up an account and it seems you need to pay a deposit of £2.5k just to be able to even bid, Is that right and normal?

Yes - a couple of years ago. Think it was 5K then. Most likely a precaution to weed out virtual tyre kickers. As I didn't "win" the deposit was returned within a couple of days. Found them very straight forward to deal with.
