I like the Maccas, I keep looking at them and a 720S it would have to be.

Ashley has done a few and we know someone in the trade who has the software.

Interesting. Agreed re the 720, it's proper special. I'm sure Franky W Hand may have an opinion on them.

I wasn't there but did see that on a video link, ACA just seem to get crazy figures in their auctions, really cant work out why, I genuinely think the buyers are smoking something up there;), been there once and bit of a lacklustre affair
I've lived in Norfolk as my UK home for last 6 years now after semi-retirement and previous 50 years UK base in the Home Counties. "Normal For Norfolk" is totally right up here as its a different world ........ like going through a timewarp back to the 1970's as you come off the top of the M11 and the locals are drawn from a very shallow gene pool............, but I love it!

Anglia Auctions mainly deal in "low end" classics, in a tatty collection of old warehouse buildings and given I live only about 5 miles from the venue, I attend most quarters, though missed this one as the weather was dreadful. £5 gets entry and a catalogue! I set a £5k limit and usually buy and sell at each one, keeping a car for 3 months then selling back at the next auction. I stick to big-engined cheap barges, and unlike my collectible cars, I aim to spend nothing on maintenance during that time. I've had some belters inc a Merc CL 600, Porsche 928, various V8 & V12 Jags and even a Bentley Turbo. Normally lose about £1k on each transaction over the 3 months inc auction fees, but I have a lot of fun and beats using my more valuable cars for running around locally in and no depreciation. I always buy with a decent length of MOT, as otherwise may cost a fortune to get a new ticket and worth peanuts without when selling back.

Must say that does sound like a bit of fun and think if i were just down the road would probably do something similar, however, it's a 6 hour round trip on good day for me, they do have some nice gems there amongst the other stuff, last time i was there about 2/3 years ago i went to see another barn find ford rs sierra cosworth which went for a gobsmacking 40k plus, they had some really nice motors, well kept BMW Z1, Alfa gtv and some others i thought were rather nice examples

My picks from the Silverstone Auctions this weekend.
Porsche 928 GT

Aston Martin Vantage V12 manual

BMW 1M. These are lots of fun, and I recommend them to anyone, even those not big fans of German metal or turbos. An angry little brute of a thing

For the dogs. I used to have a couple of coupes, not great to drive but looked great

One of the greatest engines in the greatest shapes

Maybe not to everyone’s taste, but these are a proper giggle

Hi Matt

What about the MP4-12C?

I've heard horror stories of McLaren's, not being given parts from McLaren, very expensive parts...ultimately a need to have the £5+k warranty or else you are stuffed. Sounds like you guys might be building a solution and providing an alternative, if so - I imagine you'd have a number of people interested.

Aston Martin Vantage V12 manual

I was almost convinced to buy one of these on Finance for £90k. Thank god I didn't. Granted I would've been protected from ultimate loss, but all those monthly payments would've been straight down the drain.

I guess the new Vantage being offered with a manual box has hit these hard.

Not a fan of that revised dash or gear shifter. When did that come in?
Not sure Dean, i think 2009.

But the gear stick is worth serious money and is said to make the shifts much better due to being more weighty and larger in the hand.

He has a lot to go through. He occasionally pops up on Modern a Classics/Classic Cars’ Facebook Pages, with tales of E30 M3 frolics
