Had an E46 Touring at the time, followed by an E91 Touring.
The E46 was my favourite both in design and quality by far.

Still got an E46 Touring as the trash hauler, now on 330.000 miles and still going strong. Looking to get 400,000 out of it.

Anyone can mash the throttle of a Bentley into the carpet, but hanging onto a bike at max throttle from a standstill is a feck sight harder (as well you know). A car has a load more rubber hanging onto the road.

And it’s a lot more fun! Bikes are awesome.

4wd, fancy traction control and trick gearboxes in modern fast cars, not so much.
I appreciate the latest clever engineering but the involvement of the human being is reduced to just being able to buy it, press a few buttons, and mash either a throttle or a brake and rely on a raft of computers to keep you on the road. I think I’m getting old......

True. Very true. I never had a car that I couldn't leave on the Triple or the Sprint ST (assuming decent weather etc etc), and as you know, I'm not exactly Barry Sheen. Or even Betty Boo. ;)

600bhp on the GT Speed.

Though in honesty I don't think your mate was fully committed given the wiki 0-60 is 2.4s....

I dont think he was expecting a race with a 2½t coupe , it was 10 years ago , the Bentley might've took off first and he went after it ,caught it but by then it was at full chat

I do remember him saying he could hear it in his ear all the way , the guy turned right at the lights, gave him a pip and a thumbs up , probably made his day keeping up with a 750

Ditto with my YZF, but a couple of Middle Eastern lads in a Diablo through Hyde Park had a bloody good crack at it on my way back from work one evening years ago. That thing flew, and what a noise.

Silver and black just doesn't look special enough to be for the Bentley for that amount of money.
It suited my old 360 Modena but not this big coupe.

It's quite surprising that somebody chose resale silver with a black interior given all the colour options bentley offer but 6k spent recently , hardly driven but well maintained

Sounds similar to Maserati ownership :D

It wouldn't be for me. OK with the colour, but want a Speed (none on PH!) or possibly a SuperSports(!) which apparently I might be able to scrape together for a bottom end one.

Rather a lot of this depends on how today goes. I don't have high hopes but will give it my best.

If you truly want 4 seats (even occasionally) forget about Aston and Bentley.

For me, your choice is:

Maserati GT
Lexus RCF
Lotus Evora
Nissan GTR

Not necessarily in that order

Late to the party but....
Bentley. Like most car enthusiasts and engineers I had to have one at some point. So I did.
And thoroughly enjoyed driving it. Big runs to South of France. Fast runs through Germany, hairy back lane racing in the Aberdeen ' rat runs'.
For a 2.5Te car it was awesome
However.....
It weighs slot and keeping it all on the road takes its toll on suspension with the possibility of serious expenditure every 40k miles or so. There's a lot of bushes (with arms attached). Brakes don't last long and they are big and expensive.
In fact everything is expensive.
Servicing costs are based on a new model and value, not the price you paid. So expect some very big bills.
I don't think mine had any service / visit to the dealer that cost less than £3k. There are pretty much no independents either.
I would strongly recommend driving for 50 miles plus as the seats can be oddly uncomfortable?? (Personal preference)

I think those are about it. And TBH it'd be a really short decision making process. This is very much heart driven.

Really? Not what I heard. How long ago was it?

Thanks, both

I know there's a Bentley specialist in Kent which is very well thought of.
