Camping

Mainly posting this as it's the sort of thing I was researching 18 months ago, when I was looking to buy.

Took the GT, family, 5 man tent, and all the gear camping for the long weekend. Fitted everything in the boot (admittedly I may have spent more on new super compact gear than it would have cost to stay in a nice hotel) and I even managed to avoid losing the front numberplate in the rather bumpy field...

Most importantly, proved once and for all to my other half that it IS a practical family car!5973859739

:clapps: Blimey.... that’s a feat and a half . That picture should help future purchasers though with the man maths and talking the other half into believing it’s a family car for all occasions.

That is impressive!

I’ve done something similar when I go to Lemans... Admittedly that’s just two of us camping, but there’s also typically some room in the boot, or on the back seat, for a case of two of French plonk.

It’s great fun watching friends with a 911 trying to cram everything into the pathetic storage space they have!

Good point and nice picture.
It all comes down to taking what you really need, and good kit that's light and packs small.
Don't agree with the dig at 911s though. I had 964, 993 and GT3. You can get kit in there for a full week of camping (for two) and bring back loads of wine (several cases)...did it for years.
I like this pic of Alan Clark!59750

Currently amazed at how much you can get into a Boxster with the two boots.
Currently enjoying our 3 week road trip and no stress :)

Yep, here to answer the burning questions every potential sports car buyer is asking...

I actually surprised myself, but it has made the case for a two week European trip next year being more than do-able (with no tent and more pants ) so a double win.

Fair play - that’s a cool pic... and having read his diaries, very fitting of the man!

Brain stopped work for the day some time ago, so I can't think of a witty strap line, but your photo could be from Maserati's own marketing department.
Isn't it begging for an appropriate caption? ;)

Dump the wife & kids and fu*k off somewhere else in a hurry.

Just a thought.

Great photo as said, what year/spec is it?
Mine? 2014 Sport (auto) in Blu Oceano with Bianco Pregiato. Definitely looks best in the evening light. Rather dirtier now after three days in a dusty field. Job for this weekend.

Wow, very impressive to get that lot in. I thought I did well with just a mate camping at Goodwood Festival of Speed a few years ago in the GS, mind you perhaps the coffee machine was a step too far....

Well done you !

But personally I would use a lack of boot space as an excuse not to go camping in the first place ;)
