Camera upgrade. Again

Hmmm, so after this weekend's fun and games I'm rather tempted to upgrade my camera. Again.

After my success here last year, I wonder if anyone would be interested in an immaculate Canon M3 with kit lens, boxed, all accessories and charger?

Ebay seems to indicate about £250 so any offers not stupidly below that?

<edit> It has an additional electronic viewfinder that I forgot was there as well. That's about £100 on ebay. So £300 the lot.

What are you planning to upgrade to, Chris?

M50 I think. I've spent too much on glass this month. The photos I took over the weekend have some real potential. Superb colour and resolution. Crappy operator :)

I'd prefer the built in viewfinder and the option to put a flash on as well as have the finder.

My iPhone XS Max takes better pics than the posh Fuji camera we bought for 400 Euro or so last year!

Daughters BF's iPhone 11 even better.

I got an O Level in photography too lol!

Thing is that the phone takes the photo it thinks is best........

... but yes it annoys the **** out of me when Mrs C points and shoots with her phone and it's a good as some of mine. Sometimes

Nope. Couldn't get a decent bite on the M3 so I'll stick for now.

Crazy how little some people use their kit

My view is if you're going to upgrade it, upgrade it

I still think all the manufacturers have the camera equivalent to the terminators arm in a glass cabinet somewhere , a camera that takes a perfect shot in near darkness in every situation but they release 5 cameras a year, each one does something well, then they take £500 annual increments towards perfection

I find phones are very good at landscape shots in good light but once the light drops and you use the zoom the quality falls off a cliff, the sensor in a phone is tiny as is the lens

I wonder if MI5/CIA put money into phone camera development to make sure we carry it at all times, 30 years ago ,I had a brick with a handset on it that rang, that was it, today I can be listened to and tracked, shops know where I am and target adverts at me so I can't imagine what the security services are doing with the technology.

Have been using Sony cams for years, very capable cams with good ergonomics, generally not so good in low light but your 1.8 should negate that ok. Still some great Minolta glass out there that fit on the Alpha series that can be had at a snip of the modern glass. My go to wildlife lens cost 2k, is a 30 plus year old 2.8 300m Minolta high speed pro, weighs a ton but performs as good as the Sony version which costs 8k plus so keep your eyes open for alternative glass.

Was out last night playing with my new tripod and shooting the night sky on long exposures - more practise but really happy with first results all preparation to attaching the camera to the telescope to see what we can find
