just been reading this and interesting process your thinking about, most will jump to a GTS or Stradale from the GS - Stradale my next jump in a few years or switching but keeping it Italian of course...

if you want to check another and have a go in my GS and use as a comparison for your search, more than welcome to pop down...

How does it compare to the Maserati? The 5.0 XKR is on my list of itches to scratch.

Mate has a 5.0XKR and we took it to Le Mans last year. Good points it is quick & comfortable and was perfect for the trip. Downsides, it is a bit of a brute, power delivery is brash and it will break traction from the rears with little hesitation, the noise is good but once again harsh compared to an Italian V8.

If you want be a hooligan the XKR is the car to go for, if you like doughnuts, lurid slides and lots of noise it's the car to go for.

I believe that for the average owner who does not know where the oil or water filler are on a car, that a two year service interval results in more work as faults and issues manifest into bigger problems if not attended to promptly.

Wow - what a stunning looking car.... I was going to say that must be freshly detailed, but presumably it lives in that state permanently?

I recognise I’m moving in the opposite direction to many - I’m hoping that maybe if I keep going I’ll end up in a 3500GT (assuming I also win the lottery!)

So this may be the first of several really dumb questions, as I start to get to grips with my car.

Should there be a side badge that says Gransport (under the V8) on both sides? I have one on the passenger side, but not on the drivers...

I’m presuming yes, and I’ve looked on Eurospares and they seem pretty cheap

Thoughts? Would I be better buying an orginal from Maserati?

I'm surprised it didn't come with out one from RG washing her hasn't removed it ?

Phil - very good question and I’ve just been outside to check. It was the act of washing her that made me realise there wasn’t one, but to be fair to Dicky, the photos on his website of the car do show a Gransport badge on the driver’s side. So maybe it has just fallen off...

Yes should be there but easy to replace and one of the cheaper things you will do to the GS :)

Sorry to hear this Jon, when’s that come off?? It is in the pics but not the video I sent you. I’ll chase one up for you. Glad all’s well with the car.

Dicky - that’s a very kind offer, but I’m not expecting you to fix everything I spot. I’ve purchased 2 badges from Eurospares for the extortionate sum of £26 (inc VAT)...!

Do you need a set of cruise control stalks JW? Looks like your GS is without. I've a spare which Dicky was going to have - maybe simpler to send direct. They are untested.

Can they be fitted as a retro-fit? If yes, then I’d definitely be interested...

You beat me to it! PM me an address and the stalks are yours.
Although untested worse case is the cruise control arm can be swapped over to your existing set.
I did this with mine as the self-cancel tabs were slightly worn on the replacement.
If you need to do that opening the unit up is straight forward enough.
There'll be a couple of springs which will jump about - its was obvious though once inside.
Also, there are little copper contact "hats" which may work free. Just something to be aware of.
