Cali T or Cali 30?

I'm considering both of the above, I know the 30 will probably sound better as it's n/a and the T will be quieter but obviously the 30 is older. The strad is 2014 so I dont really want to be going backwards in years but will I miss the exhaust note if I go for the T over the 30?

T is a much better car, sorted handling and performance. I'd go T and get the newer car.
Yes that's what I was thinking but the noise just wont be there even if you fit a sports exhaust as far as I was aware?

Yeh, the T is much better in many ways. You can add an exhaust to it and get more noise but it will always be turbocharged.

Spent two days driving one through Scotland. It’s a great car, practical and super quick and handles well. Overall it just left me a little flat without the noise....

It's not bad to be fair but with any turbos they will always mute the sound. Get a Sports exhaust on it though and the performance difference will more than make up for it.

From my point of view the marginal cost of the T is likely worth it for the substantially nicer interior and exterior. Without all the carbon options on the inside (rare), the 30 can look pretty cheap and dated. Some of the 30s on the market now have been for a sale for a long time - I just don't think the demand is there, which is a shame because it's still a bloody good car even if the T is better.

If you've seen the Portofino in the flesh you'll see why Cali T prices are heading south. It's beautiful. I'd guess that as more PFs are delivered so there'll be a great supply of used Ts and likely the priced will drop a bit further yet. The knock on effect on the old N/A models might make one of them a worse proposition unless you really can get an extraordinary deal on one.

The other consideration is the rear seats. They're beyond useless on the N/A model. Maybe ok for a child as long as the front seat is a long way forward. Is the T any better?

never driven any of them, i do like the styling of the cali, and i believe the cali T is way better handling and accelerating.
My concern is that when you get a Cali after a Stradale you will miss how the Strad handles.

I've driven the T and it sticks like poo to a blanket
I've also sat in the rear of a T. OK for a coupls of miles but that's it.
I just need to scratch the Fezza itch.
Looks like it will be a T
I cant believe how much the T has dropped recently but as someone stated above it's because of the PF

There's a number of factors really, not just the Portofino. Time of year, over stocking supply, price monitoring, facility interest rates, Brexit. There's loads of reasons why prices are edging down currently but this makes it a great time to buy as you can probably get a serious discount.

This is why the market is rife with 0% deals and the like right now. Including Maserati who will do you 0% on any new car. Anything to keep the sales up while the cold months roll in.

Most of these issues should correct themselves in the spring so prices should firm up again, especially on low volume, manufacturer controlled cars.

BennyD also rates the T very highly, and he drives like a complete bellend, so it must be pretty good.

Why, thank you for that glowing character reference! Btw, it’s a great car and if can stretch to it, go for the Handling Stradale pack as it comes with a rather shouty exhaust. I’d have a Cali T in a heartbeat.

I had a 30 and a long term loan of a T. No brainer for me. T every time. Just too many better components to offset the noise alone. If you can stretch I would get a Special Handling Pack as it sounds deeper. I considered it before I drove this DB11

The sports exhaust is no great shakes. There is a Ferrari race exhaust that costs 4K and won’t be anywhere near a Strad. Any aftermarket one will void the warranty I looked into all this at length

This came thru the business today , I have to agree the PF looks stunning .

It might just be me, but financially, on a L4L mileage the T is 30k more expensive than a Cali 30... give or take - that’s a whole GTS MC price difference. That’s not immaterial.

Having not driven either of them (and finding their look too feminine for my taste) - I cannot really compare both.

However given the T goes for 100k+ I would never chose it over a 599 that goes for the same money... which I have driven, and is just nuts ! again that’s just me :)

The PF looks better in real life. Its rear splitter gubbins looks like a baboon's ar5e in the photos. but in the flesh it's less Kardashian and more feline. I like it very much.

I've thought about a 599 but if I purchased a 599 for £120k it would be older than the car I have now which in my head means I'm going backwards. At least if I bought a Cali for similar price I'd get maybe a 2014/15 so I'd be treading water on the year.
