I've got chromatic heated ones on my QP5, except one doesn't heat. Any ideas? Need to replace?

My near side door mirror hadn’t retracted Or opened since I bought it. Was floppy and no matter what I did with the switch it just didn’t work. Until!... I removed the interior door card and found the white connection block had become dislocated. Saved my spending £960 on a new one!
Nice! Unfortunately in my case AV engineering have been over it, hence me knowing the burned out circuit board isn't available any more

do ones from alfa 159 fit? Never tested but they look a LOT like the complete mirrors are the same. on those two. Like with alfa 166 and 3200 gt...
Good call, watching very closely to see if this works for Devonboy ... if so I'm off to find a spare 159 mirror

I can confirm that mirror glass is the same in Alfa 159. I took one of from my wrecked 2008 159 SW and compared next to QP V facelift mirror. did not have time to fit it but will do it in the weekend. it seems that complete mirror is the same.. only fixing to door differs.

So quick update - the Alfa 159 is a perfect match and I ordered mine for less than £10 delivered...

the first picture is them on top of each other - perfection - now - any ideas on how to transfer the back and the heating element?

New strategy - gonna invest another £19.99 on the following:

This has the heating element and all I would then have to do is mount it on the maser clip on bit if the Alfa clip won’t work with the Maser wing mirror holder..

If this works - This will be a great SM team effort - a cheap replacement wing mirror for the QP & GTS - one for the sticky thread on spare parts....will keep you posted!

I started also replacing mine yesterday and my Maserati mirror has 4 wires coming into it? 2 for the heating but other two? Can it be electrically dimming like center mirror inside the cabin?

the one I bought had the correct clip for M139 QPV. Also heated, blue with funny bit at the outer edge (aspherical). label mentions Lancia Thesis, so likely the 159 raided same parts bin. Helpful lesson in languages,
"termica blu DX"
heated blue --- thgiunbk DX refers to out drivers side, so passenger side on LHD CARS

So the Alfa 159 mirror arrived....and is a perfect match

70366

the back is slightly different as it’s fitted with a universal clip
70367

but slot on the two wires, and press into place
70368
And hey presto!

wingmirrorman is the website I used and £23 delivered...

Does make me wonder what else from the Alfa 159 might fit....window regulators? Wing mirror caps....mmmm

Something for another day!

The window motor off the 159 is very similar but going off the pictures of the mas unit the connection plug is under the motor as against on top of it.

The two pictures on a checker plate background are from a 2009 GT window motor.

The two on the green background are the alfa 159 unit.

That’s what I love about this forum.....instant answers....but I suspect there are a few more bits somewhere of the Alfa 159 that are shared with the QP!

These motors look very similar - wonder if it has a similar rating and could work, even though the connector is in a different place....

30 minutes and a screwdriver later......

There are 4 screws on the motor case. Unscrew all four and pull the case free. Magnetic force will resist you but it does come apart easily enough.

Next wind the motor spindle back out its a long worm gear so pull as your un winding and it will work its way out.

Once thats out of the way you can slide a blade or screwdriver under the 4 white plastic tabs and prise them up.

You can then rotate 180 degrees and push the white plastic part back into place. The connector is now on the right side.

Wind the motor worm gear back in and then replace the motor housing and your done.

The seperated parts are shown below.
