For those of you that are suffering from stuck / squeaky / rattling valves in the GT exhaust I can confirm a replacement approach:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vacuum-Ac...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I've just had my old valves cut out and replaced with a pair of these. Although slightly different they are as close to a drop in replacement as makes no odds and I can confirm work in precisely the same way.

Even at 5 hours labour, it's still a significant saving on new rear boxes

Result, did they take long to come? What did you do about the vacuum hosing as I guess that deteriorates as well?

Paid ($100+ shipping) on 26th July, delivered 4th August

My hoses are only about 6 months old, but that's cheap and cheerful as well (it came with my Formula dynamics kit)

The spigots on the new valves are a tiny bit larger than the old ones (apparently) but not enough to cause issues.

I have just fitted the same, thanks for the advice post catman.

Like night and day vs before, very quiet when closed and as it should be when open. Mine used to stick and be open all the time once you opened them and when closed weren’t fully quiet.

2hrs labour.

Arrived after about 10 days postage.

What did your old ones look like inside when removed? The mechanism seems quite simple so it would be interesting to know why they get stuck in various positions.

Didn't really look that closely. Mine were not sticking, but one was rattling. This was because the bearing had worn / corroded.

It's a very harsh environment and they simply seem to corrode is my take
