Broken coil spring

Remember guys to always change both sides to ensure equal spring rates across the axle, not just the broken one. And good luck to you DIY'ers on this job, one for the brave!

Just a question to those knowledgeable people on here on suspension. I noticed the other day when I had a wheel off for the first time, that my shocks have adjustable platforms 'al-la coilovers', is this usual or a factory upgrade ?? ps. the skyhook system still works

I understand they're all like that - mine certainly are.

I also read somewhere that you shouldn't attempt to adjust them to lower the car or anything, because the world will explode or something.

They all have them to my understanding. You can try to adjust them, a world ending scenario will not occur. But you you will probably huff and puff and not budge them one bit unless they are off the car and thoroughly cleaned.
