So... back to Brexit...

I ordered some Sennheiser headphones, they ship from Germany, but the deal with all taxes etc. up front so the cost on the website is the total I pay. Fine, it's all sorted I think.
My shipping confirmation comes in...

Err, no.
Surely, that’s not Brexit....so they no longer scan the items as they pass through the supply chain...

Totally agree. I don’t advocate any of your examples, the problem is, the right way is to educate and discuss in an open and honest way, but people, like you, don’t want to listen.

All I’m looking for is for people to think a little about things they say and do that might offend others and not to discriminate based on race etc. To recognise that others are worse off and to break that normalisation

It’s really not so hard and it really doesn’t change your life or position all that much. I honestly don’t understand why you are so resistant to that.

Well you see it does impact my life to a degree ,and that of my grandchildren, I have always made sure that the way i live my life has very little or no impact on anyones elses lives so when others who consider themselves superior ,try to teach me or people closely connected with me that they want to make societal changes that will impact my life or those around me then i will rebel against it ........especially when most of it is flawed and baseless and taken out of context .Oh look84238

I rest my case M'lud :alan:

Err, no.

Brexit is being used as an excuse by all sorts of lazy businesses in the EU and the UK. By contrast, the ones who have got their act together are finding it pretty straightforward in the main, now that the confused ones aren’t clogging up the supply routes quite as much. That’s been my experience anyway.

PS On the other subject you responded to, I am 110% with you, and saddened and disturbed by some of what I read on this and other forums. I think it’s right to call it out, but some people’s minds are never going to change.

Err, no.
Wonder they don't ship them from China where they're made.

Well we have another bonus here in France due to BoJos deal.
Driving licences.
When I got here in 2018 it should have been a straight exchange to get a French one the same as what I did in New Zealand.
The system was overloaded with people trying to get their French license so I was advised to wait as many peoples licences got lost in the chaos.
Currently the situation is i will have to take a French driving test which won't happen due to my poor language skills.
I've never been stopped here but obviously no license no insurance.
Anyone know what's happening in the UK as many European's must be driving on EU licences ?

Yes, it's horrible how BoJo's deal has created so much trouble, when the EU has these lovely consistent international rules that make everything so easy. Unless, maybe, it is something to do with French bureaucracy being complete sh1t.

The webpage below explains the situation throughout the EU, but in summary:

In the following countries, if you are a local resident with a UK licence, you should simply exchange your licence without taking a test:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden

The exceptions, where, apparently, you may need to take a new test, are:
France, Italy, Malta, Spain

By the way, if you are a UK resident with an EU licence, you can continue to use that as for as long as you like, or you can swap it for a UK licence without a test. Because the UK isn't an evil empire that is vindictive toward former members of said empire.

Definitely this is causing problems in France with Brits breaking the rules and the laws.
For me I'm a resident here in the system paying taxes correctly.
You would be amazed how many British are driving UK cars here totally illegal.
You have a month to start the process of getting a car in the system.
The license was to be a straight exchange but it's become a mess.
I won't argue with the bureaucracy here and I would have been buggérred like an Eton schoolboy without Ms French so I'm very lucky.
A lot of Brits coming back to the UK as they can't make it work so I know I'm very lucky indeed.

Another 6 months it will all come out in the wash, Macrons open vindictiveness doesnt help matters , if Macron was in Scotland he could be cited for racial hate crimes ,love to see Jimmy Cranky get that one between her teeth lol, chin up Phil , maybe go the international driving licence route for 12 months

I can't do that the way I see it living here in France and not in the UK i need a French licence.
I understand mine is good until the end of the year and new people moving here have a year to get a licence.
Hopefully something will be sorted reciprocally between European countries and the UK.

Sounds like you got bad advice and unfortunately followed it. Nothing to do with Brexit. Same true of all the idiots who didn’t sort their residence in time and are now blaming Brexit. Broken record anyone........?
