I have been thinking about Mrs May.

Why is it that every single photo today of her announcement that she's leaving Downing Street has shown her walking straight back into Number Ten?

Surely leave means leave, or has she still not grasped this concept?

Could be there as caretaker PM till September, as the new Tory leader cannot become PM unless and until there is a test of whether they can command a majority in the HOC. How that would work constitutionally is anyone’s guess...:oops:o_O depends how quick the leadership contest goes on for. My brain hurts! :suicide:

Funniest post on this thread yet, thanks Phil.

Well well, the political hypocrisy continues.

Rory Stewart, International Devt Secretary says he could NOT serve under Boris Johnson if he advocated “No Deal”.

This is the same Rory Stewart who was happy to serve under May when she said “no deal was better than a bad deal”. She of course was a remainer and didn’t mean it.

Rory is a remainer and knew that she didn’t mean it.

Now the threat is real once again he cannot support it.....even tho he was elected under the parties manifesto which stated it would.

Neither the Tories or Labour are the answer to this issue. They are both unelectable.

Tonight they will both be reminded (and handed their dishonest arses on a plate) that there will be a new option - the only one that will represent and respect the leave vote which thus far has been betrayed.

It’s going to be fun watching the Tory Brexiteers knifing each other in the back for the top job. All the while trying to make themselves appealing to the centre ground. LOL.

I struggle to see any of the candidates as a future Prime Minister, as they are all about ego and not about leadership. TM was worn down by infighting and opportunism and that isn't going to change any time soon, so good luck to the new PM whoever it may be.

Mmmmmn, TM was toast when she surrendered to the Eu and bought back that useless POS “Hotel California “ deal thing with an unnecessary backstop and proceeded to lie saying it was our only option.......trying to hide the legal advice in the process.

She was worn down by trying to push that total shite through Parliament....for 6 months and almost 4 times during which she claimed several meaningngful amendments had been made within it - including new legal advice!

ZERO. Still the same old shite.

More jumping on the “no deal terrifies us now it’s a real threat” train.

Up to 10 Conservative MPs could defect if new PM attempts no-deal Brexit, Heidi Allen says
As many as 10 Conservative MPs could defect to Change UK if Tories elect a hardline Brexiteer planning to take the UK out of the European Union without a deal, the breakaway party’s interim leader has said.

I have to say, I don’t think this is going to be a particularly good result for those that believe in a No Deal Brexit.

If the Brexit Party poll 33% of the vote, UKIP 3%, this would reflect 36% of the public wanting a hard Brexit. If you add the Cons to the total (a sort of Brexit, maybe) then this would be 47%. If you take the Lib Dem’s, Labour (who’s grass roots are known to be heavily in favour of a second ref), Green, SNP and Change UK then this is 51% of the vote.

Of course there is a lot of arguing to be done over the make up of each parties vote. There will be some parts of the Con vote that would favour a harder Brexit and some for a soft one. There will be parts of the Lab vote that favour a soft Brexit and parts that favour a second ref.

But if you consider this as a referendum on erectness of Brexit, it is certainly looking like there is a broader consensus for floppy to flaccid.

Sorry in advance for a post that doesn’t use the words betrayal, Remoaner, incompetent, witch etc etc. This is my attempt to take a look at the situation without insulting anyone :p

Well, apart from those with erectile disfunction perhaps, whom you’ve just reminded of their plight.

Does the Brexit party get some sort of allowance for polling say 33% in less than 3 months as opposed to the rest being around since the year dot.....

Perhaps the 33% gained in such a short time is a huge sign of the desire for hardness over a floppy flacid, out but in situation.

Personally, I’m an out, in, out in, moan, definitely out, roll over and fall asleep kinda voter.
