I need to order a load of Euros for when we go to Lapland on Boxing Day.

Should I get them before tomorrow vote or after?

The lunatics appear to be running the assylum. Does anyone know what they are doing?
It all reminds me of what happens to all the lemmings.

If the vote date is set to be before Xmas, probably buy them after the vote result. If she re-schedules to after the New Year, buy them at the start of next week. The rate is dropping today in preparation of the vote as the markets don't like uncertainty. They're not the only ones!

Unless it's many thousands of pounds, it shouldn't be a great deal of difference. You're better ensuing you are getting the best rate exchange commissions etc than worrying about the actual live rates. You'll be talking about 1-3% difference on actual rate which can be recovered by using a decent exchange system.

Certainly no one in power has a clue, delaying the vote why? It's not as if the result is going to change with the numbers currently against it. Get on with the vote, watch it fail and then see who or what options come out from both sides.

I really can't decide whether May is a total clown, in a similar way to what the world thinks of Trump, or whether she and her inner circle are gloriously clever and pushing the process down the pathway they want which is to cancel Brexit.

Fiendishly clever, or a rebel without a clue? Dunno which.

Perhaps she is going to try to force the EU’s hand on the back stop before a vote, having now demonstrated that the deal will not be backed with it in? Why risk the vote and the potential no confidence vote that may follow. Better to go back now, and come back to the House with an amendment to get it over the line.

Concerning trade deals, without one you are reliant on WTO. Many countries operate on WTO with some or even all their counterpart trading countries. So this in itself is not necessarily a huge deal, although landed export and import costs will be higher for many products. But it’s a known quantity.

And don’t believe all the nonsense about how long trade deals take to negotiate. A lot of this is based on trade deals with the EU, like Canada’s, which are always going to be difficult because you have to satisfy the very different requirements of all 27 EU countries. One to one trade deals are not so complex and there are many examples out there to start from that can be adapted to UK specifics with each country. It’s a case of where there’s a will there’s a way, and even pre-formal trade agreement, counter parties can enter into partial deals on specific products if that is in their mutual interests. From what I know the Governent has been doing a lot of work on this with key non-EU trading partners over the last 2 years. So a No-deal wouldn’t be starting from scratch like some have suggested.

I’d like to see a deal done, but I wouldn’t fear a No-deal. It will never be as bad as some have predicted. And I’ve always found that change generally turns out to be a catalyst for good in the longer term if it is grasped positively. Certainty is what we need ASAP so we can get on with it.

Now it's not even clear that May has the power to delay or defer the vote, everyone's consulting their copies of Erskine May (sic)....

Wonder if May will attempt to win the vote under the Duckworth-Lewis method?

The Brussels cabal is clearly getting worried - as they should; their dream is rapidly becoming a nightmare.

That's actually an incorrect interpretation. The ECJ sided with the petitioners both *against* the European Council, the Commission and *against* HMG. Far from being a politically motivated ruling, it shows the Court's independence.

Definitely Finland. Just checked. Kittila.

I've been three times. I love it. The last time I forwent the transfer bus and rented a car from the airport, it made it much more fun as you are free to do your own thing. There is a great ice circuit kart track near to Kittila.

Enjoy.
