Brexit Deal

If they table two motions. They can vote against the deal.
And against a no deal.

Which leaves us....... well, I haven't a clue.
not over by a longshot.
“The Commons showdown is set to take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Boris Johnson will address the Commons and lay out his deal – taking questions from across the House. He will give a statement on the EU council and how it went.

Later in the day MPs will put amendments to Boris’ deal, and the Speaker will choose whether to vote on them, and if they have enough support.

The final vote will be on the deal as a whole – and any amendments which pass with it.

WHAT IF IT PASSES?

If it passes, Britain will be on track to leave the EU on October 31.

But there are a whole host of other Bills that must be signed off too – such as on trade, agriculture and food.

The PM will have to bring those forward in the coming days if he wants to leave on time – and MPs will have to vote in favour of them all.

WHAT IF IT FAILS?

If it does not pass, then under the Benn Act Boris Johnson will be forced to ask the EU for another delay to Brexit on Saturday evening.

Boris is legally obliged to go cap in hand to the EU and ask them for another extension if there’s no deal signed off.

Strategically, the PM could try and go for a No Deal Brexit, but he will likely need an election to deliver that as MPs won’t support it.

No10 has already confirmed they will have a vote on a deal, but not a vote on whether to go for No Deal.

If Boris wanted an election, he would likely have to admit defeat and delay Brexit.

Jeremy Corbyn won’t back an election until an extension is sealed with the bloc.

Boris could decide to bite the bullet and go for a delay, feeling he has no option left as MPs have rejected his deal, and thinking that if he wins a bigger majority he can push his deal through at a later date.

The PM could try yet again for more tweaks to the deal with the EU, but the bloc are unlikely to want to do this.

If it gets thrown out then it’s up to the EU27 leaders to decide whether they want to give the PM another extension – they could say ‘no thanks, you’re leaving no matter what’.

However, today Jean Claude Juncker has said that there will be no more extensions.

Mr Tusk was slightly warmer to the idea of a delay, saying he would speak to EU leaders if Boris did request one.

It’s up to the 27 EU member states if they want to to give us one, not Mr Juncker or Mr Tusk.

But several of them have said that if there was a good reason for an extension – such as a second referendum or an election, then they could allow one”

Juncker has no authority to state no more extensions. The EU is a democracy!

Anyway, what concerns me that no matter what happens, the fallout is immense.

If we leave, breakup of the Union pretty certain, riots on the streets? Likely, unrest, discord, likelihood of sectarian troubles in NI, UK to be US biatch, PRNK 2.0/

If we stay, well more or less as now, except Tories will ***** themselves cos they'll have to pay tax, Farage will lose his I delivered Brexit status, Brexitters will have parades etc bemoaning but we've already had BNP and EDL so no difference...

What do I care, UK now to me is so self centred either way, so divisive, so self-important I want no part. I'd rather be a stranger in a strange land as I am now.

Whatever happens tomorrow Johnson just proved that the Eu “we will not Re-open the withdrawal agreement” under any circumstances was total utter bol1ocks.
If he’d been allowed to negotiate with the threat of no deal he’d have walked away with an even better deal imo.

Whatever happened to article 24 of GATT, whatever happened to the German car industry would come running to our rescue, whatever happened to, they need us more than we need them, what ever happened to let’s go WTO and to no deal no problem, what happened to no British Prime Minister would countenance NI separating from the union, what ever happened to no deal is better than a bad deal, what happened to those mysterious, illusive technological solutions and alternative arrangements that existed for the NI red herring, what ever happened to we hold all the cards. What ever happened to the 39 (now 33) billion that we weren’t going to or obligated to pay?

Why on earth has the Brexit pied piper Farage got the hump now? He should be happy as Larry no? :beat_brick::banplease:

An Englishman , Irishman and a Scotsman go into a bar. The Englishman wants to leave and go to the bar next door where the drinks are twice as expensive and doesn't have a juke box. Everyone has to go.

And, despite there being another 27 pubs in the same street, it's very difficult to vist any of them.

Just caught a blinding bit of information on the latest Brexit deal.
We get to stop EU countries fishing in our waters.
However, the EU make up 90% of the market where we sell our fish.
If we don’t let EU boats fish in our waters, we can’t sell our fish in the EU market.

Talk about a massive balls up. Not quite “Taking Back Control” is it?

That would be Farage's answer. But the reality will be that fish will go up in price as most of the fisherman will go out of business as they can't make ends meet, and we'll have to import it! Probably from Europe........

I think this is the endgame now, Boris' bluster, spin and lies with a weak opposition has won through. I can't quite believe it's all come to this, it's the end of the UK, which is no bad thing, big changes ahead and a lot of pain and suffering for ordinary people at the behest of the fat cats.
